i had monster hunter but i was so incredibly bad that i traded it to my friend for field commander...which was repetetive and boring. i think im going with The warriors

Now, just a question, if you are in Florida, and you are willing to get "some" data, why not just stay with AT&T, since most likely the the phone you get from the store will not be unlock able, and maybe even get the contract... so you can get the phone cheaper too... I don't know, but to me, it seems like the best option, but I might be missing something...

I have been a PC user for basicly my entire life, but I have never exactly been happy with it. The thing would crash, have the BSoD, but that is not really why i switched.

Basicly I got tired of the Windows Operating System, Bill Gates, and the millions of PC Viruses. I needed a notebook for college in the fall, and I picked up a 17" PowerBook G4 because it suites all of my needs and it replaces the need for a desktop for quite some time. I have enjoyedm first week as a Mac User because everything has worked so well, and I am actually used to all of the windows opened at the same time now! (I never understood before untill I actually spent hours upon hours with the thing)

I have now become addicted to iTunes and have puchased 68 songs in my first week. :D Another reason why I wanted the Mac is because of Final Cut Pro. I love watching and making movies so I felt that the Mac would be the best thing for me... The last movie I made was on my Pentium 4 box and I nearly threw it out of the window because it was so evil... Hopefully the Mac is more kind. I have not started to edit video on my Mac yet, but that is because I have not had the time.

I like my "little" 17" PowerBook because it works great and everyone I have shown it off to has been really amazed by it.

You're right in a way. You can use the Linksys and extend via ethernet to the AP express to extend it. OR... you can buy 2 APEs and have one be the WIFI.. and then the 2nd one would just extend from the 1st one. It's super easy to setup with the software on the mac!

    Thanks for all your suggestions.
I definitely wouldn't mind better cooling, and also believe getting rid of some of those holes might actually make it a lot less noisy.

Reselling isn't really a concern as I plan to keep it at least until I can afford a Intel-based Powermac. That's why I just upgraded the processors and why I have also ordered a new graphic-card. The PCI-slots will be used though, one already is for a 1394b controller-card.

I've cut the outer finger-guard for the Powersupply as well as the internal one for the large HD-fan. As of writing the machine runs at 82 F (28C) in a fairly cold room. Not doing much, just surfing and keeping a tab on the temperature...

Yes, you can apply a password. And you can also set it so the network does not appear unless you type in the network name. Useful if you need to hide the network from someone.

Try resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

If this does not work, try resetting the SMC of your MBP:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

This should solve the issue, so far I've not experience any issues with 6.7

Unless it's been stored in a refrigerator, the battery's likely dead (as in DEAD), too.

It looks like MJ and Mr. M gave you some great tips.

MJ was correct, I was thinking the airport side of things. But it now looks like the PB side of things.

Agree with the others, get it to Apple to be fixed. That way you'll be sure the problem is corrected.

MJ and Mr. M, great job! :D

Oh, and after you get your PB fixed, you may still have problems connecting to your Airport. In that case delete the preference file first. If that doesn't work, then I would reset the Airport and then use the Airport Setup utility to set up the Airport. Just be sure that you have your ISP data handy before you do this.

Please let us know how it work out.

    Good luck!

I think you mean labels not studios. Most of the people working at studios work very hard for not much pay.

    +1

He must have meant labels. Studios don't make hardly squat, and are not commissioned on sales.

Am I the only one who notices that photos taken on the iPhone 4 front camera look wonky in this app? For one, the rotation is opposite what the original photo was.

On the MobileMe gallery web page, IP4 front camera photos are rotated correctly, however the aspect ratio is way off making everything look fat.

Yeah, the PS3 browser is terribly shite.

The best software for streaming media to your PS3 is PS3MediaServer, which is free but Intel only. So unfortunately you can't really use your G5 as the media server. The PlayStation requires a uPnP server for streaming and if your MyBook jobbie is connecting and doing the trick, then you're halfway there. The best thing you can do is rip all your files to a format the PS3 likes with Handbake on your Mac and load it all up on the WD HDD.

We don't get Netflix in the UK, but LoveFilm has started a streaming video service which is about the closest we're ever going to get. We do however get shortcuts to BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and 4oD on the XMB.

Oh, and sign up for a PSN account. Download WipEout HD Fury and have a blast at that. You've got a decent machine with good games. The Blu-ray player is great, so we just need to get your media streaming sorted out.

    What does Spymac offer, exactly?

Okay, nevermind. I know now, but I really don't know much about Spymac in general. Is it free? I couldn't find a price for it.

And if its free/cheap, what's the catch? How could they offer so much?

Thanks for the responses, i'll do a full restore tonight to see if it has any effects on the battery life, I don't want to turn off the push notifications and push email unless I have too.

it could be that I am in a no service area for most of the day and the phone keeps trying to get the service so maybe I just need to switch it into airplane mode whenever I have no service.

Hey, I'm in the same boat here

Recently bought an iBook, and although I love it, I hate the keyboard layout (supposed to be UK layout). It's not so much a problem per se, as I quickly adapt to new things. The biggest problem is that at work I have to use a windows PC, and I keep getting the keys wrong all the time!!!

The \ in my ibook is next to the return key, and next to the left shift on the pc at work. I can't tell you guys how many times I've typed # at work, expecting a \ (next to return is the # on a pc), or how many times I've typed ` expecting a \ on my ibook.

It's really getting on my nerves!!!

Now, here is a question for you all. When I'm at home, I don't mind using an external PC keyboard (i have a cordless logitech keyb/mouse thang). Is there any way I can remap the keys so that when I have the external keyboard, everything is where a PC would find it? ie, \ next to the left shift, # next to the return key, etc...

    Thanks

i think the biggest hurdle to leap over to run panther, are the graphic card limitations of the older machines. stuff like the cube user switching and expose are going to be cpu and graphic card intensive. do you think those older machines would be able to handle those?

    Sorry I couldn't help it.

I have been watching the price of Apple stocks and they are down $20 from last week when I almost bought a single share. Glad I didn't though. If I get this job today or tomorrow I think I will buy one or two shares while it's sagging.
