Good, now everyone can shut the hell up and stop bitching about the processor. But still, you all should've just bought the machine a while ago rather than wait until now.
And I swear, if there is any talk about Santa Rosa and when it's going to be in the MacBooks, I'll break some shins.
yeah, I should've stop bitching and bought it two weeks ago and missed out.

This news is sick! In just 12 hours? DAMN!
I would buy the no new iPhone rumor because OS X Lion is gonna be a game changer from what I've been reading, so they will need to focus and give a 100% to Lion. However, that doesn't mean they won't preview iOS 5, for a fall release :)

Personally I see this as a big deal for a reason not many others have mentioned: bringing in the holdouts.
The Beatles are the big one of course, but the others (Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, etc.) are still unsure about the whole digital music thing. If the biggest hold-out finally folds and goes for sale on-line, others will follow.
(and yes, I'm not exactly sure if the Rolling Stones or Led Zepplin are "holdouts", but they're not on iTunes or anywhere else that I can see... surely there are others?)
Add Frank Zappa to that list.

Ouch.
I get 36 hours on my Droid X without any issues...
if you only use it for phone calls and text then it's no problem but if you play a game or surf the web then it may get problematic to achieve a battery life that long

I'm curious. Just how "slow" (transfer speed) is the wireless on Zune?
slower then handing over your earbud.

In other words, you can only run OS X on a Mac, because all Macs ship with it.No, You can run OS X on non Macs but not legally under the EULA because currently Apple only sells OS X as an OEM with it's hardware or as an upgrade for systems that already come with a Mac OS.
But you can buy OS X 10.4 and install it on any Mac sold in the last 5 years. You don't need 10.1, 10.2 or 10.3 installed in order to install 10.4, and I imagine 10.5 will be the same.So what. You can buy an upgrade package of winXP and install it on any computer well over 5 years old that had win98 installed on it. You didn't need to install WinMe, Win NT, or Win2000.
You are legally only allowed to install the stand alone OS X 10.4 software on systems that originally came with the Mac OS. It's an upgrade.

I would love a laptop without an optical drive.
I hardly ever use mine on my 15'' PB, I'd love to be able to replace it with a battery or second hard drive or just leave the bay empty to reduce weight.
PC world sells USB floppy drives, USB CD and USB DVD drives for a few tenners each. I'd be perfectly happy to buy one and leave it in the drawer for when I need it.
PS - Bluetooth DVD drive? don't think so, big hunks of rotating media need either big expensive batteries or to be plugged into the mains electricity.
Would like to see someone try it on the market tho...

Some great composers, but Mc Cartney is not the sharpest business tool in shed. Evidence.... Michael Jackson & the fact he lost so much money waiting this long to license the music to a legitimate outlet. Allofmp3.com & bearshare, all the other peer2peer & preloaded ipods being sold stole from all of them big time.
MY friends all have complete Beatles on their mp3 players & computers. Cost probably nada. Whether it is right or wrong people will buy if it is easily available & steal more if it isnt.
SteveO has to be drinking the Beatles kool-aid to give an overgenerous deal.
The issue with the Michael Jackson thing goes back years to when Lennon/McCartney originally sold the publishing rights to Dick James, and then didn't/were'nt given the chance to buy them back once they became wealthy men. In the Michael Jackson case, it was simply that Paul couldn't raise the money to buy them. This was mainly because he couldn't get Yoko to join him in the bidding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Songs
And don't forget, Apple (Corps) aren't stupid. The 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper is next year (June 1, for those who are keeping track). AND...not so coincidentally, it's the 20th anniversary of the CD releases. There is a massive opportunity there, and I've been saying for some time that I expect the remastered, next-gen Beatles releases to coincide with this event. "It was 20 years ago today...", and all that.
The fact that Apple can continue to make heaps of money after 40 years on just the Beatles images/likenesses (remember, they don't own the publishing OR the master recordings), is amazing.

Been lurking for years (entertaining for sure), but I had to register because you clowns are missing the obvious on this one.
It is the infamous Mac iTablet (iPhone'esque only bigger), and the "in the air" part is... the keyboard.
It's a floating holographic projection type thing that you type on, therefore freeing up all screen real estate and no smudges.

The battery is paired with the computer - e.g. one battery goes with the computer serial (don't need to enter that battery serial, it matches up with the computer) and a spare uses its own.
It says i need to enter a battery's code, along with the COmputers..it won't let me go any farther without it...maybe SilentPanda is right? wait until tomorrow

Hmmm...... If you look closely at the banner photo you'll see the "64-bit" logo is awfully close to the photo of the iMac. The current Intel iMacs are not 64-bit since the Core Duo (1) processers are 32-bit. Could this mean that the iMacs are going to get the new Core Duo 2 processers, which just happen to be 64-bit.
Same goes for the MacBook Pros
I doubt it since this is the World Wide DEVELOPERS Conference...I wouldnt classify an imac as a developmental machine.

No kidding.
I will make a bold prediction - within 5 years the "major" upgrade cycle will be at 12 months, with the "mid-cycle" cycle at 6 months. The number of new features found in those major cycles will approximate the number we're seeing in the current mid-cycle updates.
But prices will not go down.
I also won't be surprised if, at that point, Adobe will only offer subscription (month to month) pricing - you won't be able to purchase the software outright (or buy what amounts to a perpetual license, if you want to be pedantic).
I tend to agree. The subscription model is being adopted everywhere, much to my chagrin. In 10 years time the idea of owning software will seem quaint.

lol good instinct. It is a hoax and it has been discussed... ad nauseum. Someone from here went and gave 9to5 a "tip" to see if he'd post it, and he did, so we know to discount everything that ever comes up on that website. Have a good flight.
sorry to push this further but can you link to where this person "from here went and gave 9to5 a tip to see if hed post it and he did"? The way this played out interests me.
Thanks ahead of time.

Android Phone Specs are out pacing the Iphone. An 8 Megapixel camera, bigger screen and more memory will keep me buying. IOS 5 with the rumored adobe flash would be great too.
where was Flash rumored for iOS 5?

THEY BROKE iTUNES 5.x!
Well, you can still use it for playback and music management. But you can't use the shopping cart any more.

This just proves how idiotic humanity is. These songs have been available in multiple formats for over 40 years, but only now, since they are offered in a lossy digital file, do people buy them.
yes!
because EVERYONE has custom IEMs and pro level studio monitors hooked up to their professional amps in their phones, cars, gym headphones....jk no they don't.
Protip: Some people just wanna listen to the music. They don't care about the nuances removed by going to MP3 or an otherwise lossy format because their equipment is probably less than adequate to accentuate the difference anyway.

I say iTunes Movie Store and new iPod nanos. Possibly a rev of the iMacs, since they were the first ones to go Intel.
And hopefully updated MBP's with C2D.

People still shop at Radio Shack for more than just oddball connectors, batteries, etc.?
Thats all I ever get there. Pretty much everything else they sell is overpriced.
Everything there is overpriced. Their cables and connectors are usually 2x what they would cost from a respectable store! Typically when a part costs $12, I'll tell them I'll give them $5. They usually take it bc it's only worth 5

I walked into a Best Buy today, walked right over to the apple section and the Apple rep asked what I was looking for.
I told him an ipad 2.
What flavor? I told him doesn't matter.
5 minutes later I was getting in my car with a 32G 3G.

I have 3 USB 1 ports and 2 FireWire ports. Does that mean if I buy a new 8Gb Nano, it won't work with my system? :(
Your iMacG5 doesn't have USB 2 ports? As far as I know, ALL iMac G5s had USB 2 ports...even previous iBook G4s had that already...I think you're mistaken, sorry.
