An "Image Sensor" is not a camera. The sensor is part of a camera. In addition to a sensor one needs to add at least a lens, some buffer memory and a controller. Sony makes image sensors for many, other camera makers.
8MP is way to many pixels for a cell phone camera. The only reason to have so many is for marketing purposes because consumers seem to think (wrongly) that more is better. What really limits sharpness of a cell phone camera is the physical size of the lens. If the lens projects a blurred image onto the focal plane the best sensors will simply make a very good recording of the blurred image.
Yes! thank you Chris. God, finally! Please all fanboiz, wake up! It is the LENS it is the quality of the sensor. More MP is not always better!! Spec heads.

Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to the FTC and DOJ yesterday (by way of copy from an e-mail to David Porter, the offending Wal-Mart executive). I urge everyone to do something similar:
Send to dporter@walmart.com, antitrust@ftc.com, and antitrust.complaints@usdoj.gov
Dear Mr. Porter:
By this letter and by copy to the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice I hereby notify you that your reported behavior constitutes numerous violations of the Sherman Antitrust Act and the Federal Trade Commission Act. As reported in a wide variety of sources, you have been meeting with the heads of large movie studios and threatening to purchase fewer or return product from those studios that agree to distribute movies over Apple iTunes service (see, e.g., http://www.macnn.com/articles/06/09/22/wal.mart.threatens.studios/). This is an egregious restraint of trade that severely effects interstate commerce. News reports indicate that you have already "punished" Disney by returning thousands of DVDs and refusing to sell them. Because Wal-Mart sells 40% of the physical DVDs in the United States, you are in a privileged position and are abusing your market power. You are seeking to obtain concessions to sell content at Apple's prices (which does not include the manufacture, shipment, and sale of a physical item). Apple has innovated - something WalMart is incapable of -- and WalMart now wants to take advantage of Apple's innovation.
I urge the FTC and the DOJ to open criminal investigations into your behavior. In addition, your conduct violates your own "Corporate Code of Ethics," making a mockery of your supposed corporate values.
You should be ashamed of your luddite and monopolistic behavior.
Bravo, sir! I wrote a similar complaint to the Department of Justice. If everyone here wrote one, we might actually see some effect; big corporations and institutions seem to believe that for every single person who sends out a letter there are at least 20 other people with the same opinion. (A good example: the Janet Jackson 'wardrobe malfunction' backlash. Who really cared about that other than the people who wrote the FCC? Practically no one...)

The MacBook doesn't need a Core 2 Duo processor. Apple needs to leave a gap between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro.
why? Haven't they always been the same processor?

Where did you buy that buddha head ?
It's still there. It's just not shown in the picture.
The iPhone first gen hasn't got a very good camera so I could not get it all on the pic.

There's no guns to switch, the jet pack is a total crap I'll just fly around and you can't shoot me and you can't kill me because there is no rocket launcher or laser. Am I missing something?

THis is one of the most ridiculous posts I have read on this thread. Sorry. So you want Apple to go around the world creating contracts with all mobile operators in the world, so you can use 3G FOR FREE???!! Which isn't even available everywhere??!!.
Is that not what they are practically doing with the uh....urm...i dunno...iPHONE? Plus, the original poster only mentioned AT&T, they didnt talk about it going international.

That's like saying that Microsoft should make windows work better with iTunes... kinda backwards.
Given that Safari is the fastest browser out there, I think Apple has done their part. Adobe needs to step up, and optimize flash for osx.
Well, if iTunes was a plugin, used by virtually 100% of the world's computer users, then Microsoft would care enough, to ensure that it ran well on its platform.
Apple has been fairly hostile to Flash, and has obviously not cared enough, to ensure that Flash performs well on its platform.
And as far as Safari being the fastest browser, you believe in ads way too much. Safari is the most inefficient of the major browsers with Flash, and it has some serious issues with Java. It takes it about three times longer to load my iGoogle page, than either Camino or Firefox.
After I did my tests with Flash (see my post above), I finally changed from having Safari as the default browser, to Firefox 3.6 Beta, on all my Macs, as well as on my HTPC (W7). Safari has a great UI, IMO, but I actually customized Firefox to look just like Safari, so I am happy.
But if my iPhones 3GS don't get Flash in the next few months, through jailbreaking or officially, I'll be looking carefully at some of the new Androids with the enormous screens soon.
I love Apple, I love their design. But I already switched to Windows for my Home Theater box, after realizing that Apple would never deliver what I wanted, and I'll switch my phones even easier, if my Internet experience is crippled, because of the lack of Flash.

And if the US spent even a fraction of the $600 billion a year it spends on its military on aid then we'd all be better off - free mosquito nets for Africans would be a good start (http://www.economist.com/blogs/democracyinamerica/2011/03/libya_v_aid?page=4).
it would be already a good start if current US foreign aid would be used for aid and not military expenses
in some cases of that foreign aid those countries are even required to use the money for military equipment from the US ...

You know, I hate to say this, but it has a striking resemblance to the "Vista" font. Granted, "vista" is more narrow. Scary, huh?

Those prices are just crazy... Who the %&## will pay $250-$400 for a Win OS??? Especially since you know you will need additional anti-virus/spyware...
If this is true, M$ just shot themselves in the foot. There are viable OS alternatives today that are both better and cheaper.
This could be the fat lady's que for her her swan song.

Besides Apple usually pimps up the iPhone before the iPad and the next iPhone won't have 3D...
"Usually?" There's only been one revision of the iPad since its initial release, so it's a little early to try to point to any consistent pattern.

I didn't read much of this whole thread, but this lady right here makes sense. Then again, I hope this idea of being able to buy a coach if the man buys an ipad works both ways.
Go to Mexico and you can score a coach for $20-30 bucks. It will work as well as a $700 coach you'd get here. You can't say the same for the $50 eyepads. ;)

hahaha Don't be sorry. Powerbooks not being affected by this is a good thing to me. I'm still holding tight to my PPC.
What's your source that says PowerBooks (or any other machines) aren't affected?

Forget about everything else for a second. Al Jazeera was actually supportive of the US' actions in Libya. People in Egypt and elsewhere are actually supportive of the US bombing a country in that region.
That's absolutely amazing considering the damage GWB did to our standing in that part of the world.
The next time some nutcase tries to recruit someone to blow himself up based on the idea that the US is the "bad guy" it is going to be harder now. So, maybe... just maybe, there is a bigger picture.
Oh, and can anyone point me to the part of the Constitution that permits a standing army?
