So I have owned my 2011MBP (15", 2.2GHz) for about a month now, and while it isn't slow, it doesn't feel as fast as my 3 year old C2D (E6750) based system. On my Windows machine, I can run several virtual machines, for months, without even noticing any impact on other applications such as Adobe CS3, etc. This system only has 4GB of memory, and an older 750GB HD.
If I try running just 1 virtual machine (be it XP or Windows 7), it makes the laptop almost useless, while the VM itself isn't running that fast either. I have tweaked some of the performance settings in Parallels, but nothing seems to make a difference. I upgraded to 8GB of memory, still no difference.
Is this a typical experience?

Win 7 runs cool and quick and barely uses power. But Apple has to fix the trackpad driver pronto it sucks.

So I go to Best Buy to pick up the 4gb 360 slim. Low and behold they don't have it, all they have is the stupid 4gb Kinect bundles or the 250gb holiday bundle. They have stacks upon stacks of these goddamn bundles, but no stand-alone 4gb systems. Next stop, Target. Same story there, Kinect and holiday bundles galore, but no stand-alone systems. Next stop Wal-Mart, same story. Next Stop Meijer, same stupid story. Finally I go to Gamestop, and guess what only Kinect and Holiday bundles.
To say that I am pissed right now is a major understatement. Why do they have to stock all of these stupid *********g bundles? No one wants the damn things. Why can't they just stock more stand-alone systems? Maybe it's not the fault of the stores, maybe this is Microsoft's falut, because they won't make enough stand-alone systems. i would say keep the 16GB iphone 4, this way you cant get screwed any more than you already have. if you send it back and he doesnt send you a 32GB then you are stuck with absolutely no iphone AND you'll be out $650

That's actually the 'Batmobile' Newton. One of three prototype versions that were superseded to market by the 4th and final version. You can see the three here (with a link to a flickr page showing more pics of the Batmobile version):

This ebay one is missing the bit that actually refers to its name, the batmobile type snap-on cover. Still rare, but without the cover... I dunno. A few were actually made for a TV show in a limited production run (like the Powerbook in Independence Day), something Apple did a bit of back then.

A 2TB Seagate ST32000541AS on my 3.4GHz i7 with 2GB 6970M. I have not been able to get any details of this drive on Seagate's website.

The wii always had love...its small, kinda cheap, wii sports, multiplayer games, swinging of the arms...great combo.
I'm seeing a few wii consoles pop up in my local GS/BB in NYC so all in the Manhattan area head out to 129th next to the Apollo...you might find one

My situation: my boyfriend let me borrow his jailbroken iTouch, and knowing nothing about them, I updated the software and lost it all. So I have 4.2.1 software now, so I looked up the jailbreak for that. I used redsn0w and I thought it worked perfectly, but after I used the "Just boot tethered right now" option, the pineapple came up and all, but it's just...stuck. It keeps making the little slide-bar noise every 10 seconds and it looks like it's been loading for 10 minutes.
Also, I'm using an iPod touch 3g.

Hi again,
I managed to solve the problem. My UIViewController subclass as configured correctly. The problem was in the configuration of the Navigation Controller. I had to Specify the Class name in IB for the UIViewController embedded in the Navigation Controller. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Now I'm problem-solving it just for an excuse to learn more about the workings of OS X.

Hmmm... Lumines I/II since you generally spend about and hour and half doing one game only to lose, swear, and start over. I dunno how long Syphon Filter is but it's a pretty good action game, as is GTA:VCS. The Sega Genesis collection will keep you busy if you like old school games since Phantasy Star IV alone is a good 10 hours to beat. Ratchet and Clank maybe?

When I enter iPhoto, I usually notice that the font is noticably bigger in the Source area than it is in iTunes. Basically, it looks like the exact same size as in iCal's Calendar area. It IS NOT the Large size, but is in-between the small and large size.
I have tried changing the source size and it works until I close it. When I start iPhoto back up again, it goes back to the bigger size. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening, or is this just a common bug with iPhoto?
