If you have worked on a H1B that was from the quota and you have
never left the US for more than 1 year since then.. then you can
transfer your university H1B to company H1B (without waiting for Oct1)

My understanding is that state in which you work you need to pay the taxes for that state. And I believe sometime in GC interview they ask for tax papers , during that time it should not create problems.

Anyone can give some input on this ?
I have approved H1b renewal and my wife went to India and got h4 visa based on my approval, I have not stamped yet,
since my wife already got the visa stamped, do you think I need to verify for PIMS ?
or it should have been already verified .
Any idea?

My husband just booked tickets for Washington DC to attend the rally. Very excited to be part of this rally!

A unique situation -
I am getting ready to apply for my wife's AOS (ROW). She has never used a last name on any legal documents, example birth certificate, passport.
Her H4 visa was processed with "FNU" - family name unknown .. Do I need a last name for filing her I-485? Can she get a GC with only her first name on it?
Or will they process it with FNU as last name...
Should i go to her embassy (Indonesia) and get her passport changed to my last name before applying for her 485? In that event, her H4 visa,passport and birth certificate will not match her passport..
Any thoughts on my situation?
I guess, nobody really knows the answer. If she does not have a last name and all she uses is her first name, it should be alright. Since all her legal documents- Birth certificate, Passport, DL, Bank Statements have this legal first name only. If she now wants to use your family, last name after getting married, that could also be done. You should really consult your lawyer on this one. Please do not use any advice from this forum as legal or valid.

I filed I 765 with Vermont service center on April 30,2009 and even got the I 797 C receipt. When I tried to check the case online it gives a message that

It is not illegal. Some companies apply for extensions a bit late and in the mean time, the VISA expires. It is OK. At the most he/she will not be able to drive as the drivers license is linked to the VISA expiry.

You can find out by calling USCIS. There is thread here teaching tricks to get to talk to a immigration/field officer. If you can do that, you can ask him/her, and may get the answer.
By saying they wouldn't adjudicate your case becase its PD is not current, I meant they wouldn't approve your case. But they will look at your case. If something is wrong, they'll correct it or send you a RFE, both of which will result in updates. If everything is all right but only your PD is not current, they will "put in suspense" your case, which will result in an update too, and send your case to some on hold shelf. When your PD is current, they'll approve your case.
