Can IV and Mr. Gotcher help us in preparing draft of the letter. We can send flowers and letter to the person that IV and Mr. Gotcher recommends. As I said before this group is willing to collect additional funds for lobbying for this purpose.
Till Ron is still working on the draft. I will update if its ready.

They call themselves rich because of bank balances but in my
It doesn't matter what your views are, if they have money in the bank they are actually "rich". If they can maintain the same life style in good times and bad times, they are rich. They can provide food, shelter and health insurance for their family during tough times, they are rich. Unfortunately your views will NOT pay bills, so you can distribute them freely on this forum all you want it won't make a difference.
In my opinion ,this is what is most important. What good it is to live like kings for few years.

Sent my PP for renewal few weeks back and I got it back in 2 weeks.
For me it looked like SFO is pretty good.
I applied for my renewal in SFO and got it back in 2 weeks. I also applied for my daugther's PIO card around the same time. Got it back in 3 weeks. SFO seems to be the best

Pappu, please close this thread.
First of all, the topic of this thread is a total waste of time.
We hardly have enough support, funding, time etc. to fight GC related issue, and here people wasting time on discussing Citizenship! I am politely asking these people if any of you have contributed any of your time/money/effort to IV, Did you? Simply hypocrisy.
And top of that people in this thread are using extreme foul language.
Please close this thread.
You also made sarcastic comment in this thread about me. See if you guys do not like this idea better keep away from this thread instead of making sarcastic comments and harsh words.

If DOS continues with this interpretation of spillover then there is a very small (tiny) window coming up in third quarter of FY 2010 (Apr'2010) where we might see some spillover to EB3. Here is how:
Currently there are total 4050 (EB1) + 74932 (EB2) = 78982. These are mostly pre-adjudicated and waiting for VISA numbers.
Total allocation for new FY is 140K out of which 40K (28.6%) will go to EB3. So EB1 and EB2 will have 100K left but their total demand is only 78982. So these 21K numbers will be left which will be used for new applications recieved under EB2 category.
When PD for EB2-I/C moves forward, there will be more applications coming in because many EB2-I/C people have their labor approved and they are waiting to file their I-485. However, when these new applications comes in, they are NOT processed yet and their background check is not clear yet. So even if visa numbers are available for them, they are not ready to be approved.
So at this time we poor EB3 people can hope some mercy from DOS and we hope that DOS might spill those remaining 21K numbers to EB3 so we don't waste any numbers while USCIS is adjudicating those newly recd applications under EB2.
If this 21K spillover happens then we EB3-I have to hope for another mercy from DOS that they give these 21K spillover numbers strictly based on Priority dates in EB3 and not based on EB3-ROW first and then EB3-C and then EB3-M/P and then EB3-I. We expect DOS to give these spillover based on PD and not based on country of chargeability. If that happens then all these numbers will go to EB3-I and we might see it moving to 2003.
And this is a fair expectation from DOS that they give spillover numbers based on PD because that is what they are doing in EB2-. When EB2-ROW numbers goes to EB2-I and EB2-C they go based on PD and hence EB2-I gets most of the numbers.
My two cents. Please post your comments on my theory.
If we all EB3 agrees to above theory then we should seek help from IV to make sure that spillover to EB3 happens based on PD whenever it happens.
Thanks.

I do not think anyone is accusing IV of taking sides. I do not think they ever campaigned for EB2 and not EB3, The point is completely missed. But the movement happening is for EB2 only and not EB3, so it is only human for EB3 folks to see and feel depressed that nothing is happending for them.
Not few days ago, the administrators have themselves mentioned that there is no hope for EB3 unless a CIR is brought in congress and the only other thing for folks to do sooner is to Port, and which we all know only a few can do, not everyone...
In the light of all this...are we not missing an action plan????
I have contacted my lawmakers, sent letters to them...and its not even a long time since I joined this forum...the point is how do we make new people motivated?
I have failed to see where IV has been showing discrimination or bias towards Eb2 versus Eb3?
Not taking up a specific Eb-3 cause does not tantamount of neglecting Eb-3. Has IV done something in past 'proactively' for only a certain category of Eb? If not, then how can we accuse IV of ditching Eb3, at the same time?

Set a meaningful standard time frame, based on employment category, within which all applications must be processed. If they could not process an application within the time frame and the application meets the all requirements, the applicant must be issued with green card irrespective of whether a visa number is available or not. Though time frame could differ, it would atleast help the applicants plan their future properly. Most importantly it makes the USCIS accountable.
Eliminate EAD renewals every year. This will reduce the paper work and hence improve performance. Unless people change their jobs, there should be no need to renew.
Come on....please wake up.

Many are porting to EB2 from EB3, Hope that clears some traffic @EB3. I hope USCIS will equally distribute the spill over in year or two with help of IV and lawfirms.
Its in 10s. Not even in 100s. And sadly, the DAMN drunk USCIS not taking this into consideration while setting a cut off dates for EB3 I. Either Visas get wasted or spilled over to other categories that are already in good shape, for ex EB 2 (Not specifically India).

I got the magic email...after 10+ years. This forum has kept me sane for the longest time, thanks to you guys. I will pay my dues soon.
Got my FP done in Oct 2007. Could the ADIT processing be for the FP? Or have people got "card production ordered" after this initial email?
EB2I, PD June 2004, Received Date: 07/27/07, Notice Date: 08/27/2007
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
On September 1, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
Congrats, it is a tough journey.

However in order to work on an issue, the push and support must come from members needing it. For that we will need support of Greencard holders who think that this an issue for them and they are willing to participate and support IV to go all the way. Right now we have our hands full with current IV agenda and need to accomplish those with our limited resources
Pappu any news about multiyear EAD/AP?

got this response today ...
Thank you for contacting me about the DREAM Act. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.
Our immigration system is broken and needs to be corrected. I agree with the principles of giving aspiring students the ability to follow their dreams, complete college, and contribute to our society and economy. However, I firmly believe the separate passage of the DREAM Act would hinder our ability to ultimately pass comprehensive immigration reform and voted against it when it came before the House in December. We need comprehensive immigration reform nowfor fairness, for families, and for our economy.
If we focus on only one aspect of immigration reform, we will not solve our problems. Such an approach unfairly excludes many important interests and groups from a solution. Employers need access to the legal immigrant workforce necessary to keep their businesses growing and should not be asked to act as law enforcement or punished for hiring folks with false identification if they made a good faith effort to authenticate it. Given the practicalities of the situation and our current budget constraints, we need to provide a path for legal status to those already in this country, not just for students or those serving in the military.
American jobs and businesses depend on a comprehensive immigration solution. Oregons own Coalition for a Working Oregon has done research showing how bogus impractical deportation schemes would lead to a loss of 76,000 jobs for legal workers in Oregon. This drop in economic activity would cost the State of Oregon as much as $656 million in revenue and lower small business income by 8.5 percent. It is time now for comprehensive immigration reform. It is the right thing to do for those who want to contribute to America, for our economy, and for our country. Half measures no matter how well intended undermine our ability to get to the real solutioncomprehensive immigration reform.
Although the House of Representatives passed the DREAM Act on December 8, 2010, the Senate failed to invoke cloture, the procedural vote that is required to end debate and allow a final vote. As a result, the DREAM Act was not considered by the Senate prior to the end of the 111th Congress and legislative efforts must begin again in the 112th Congress. Please be assured I will keep your opinions in mind as the debate continues.
It is a privilege to serve you in the United States Congress.

I am quite confused. My date is June 2002 first week .
Not sure if it makes sense to Port to Eb2 , but big uknown is how long it would take PD to move up to June 2002.
It could take 2 years at the earliest, more like 3-4 years. Do not quote me- this is just a guesstimate. Nobody knows. Better to file EB2 and interfile 140 & 485 using EB3 pd.
The best thing to do is to get involved with IV State chapters and advocate for change.

I oppose this idea. Let us all focus on Greencards. People who got GC should be helping us who do not have GCs.
GCperm used to write so much about Greencard campaigns but as soon as he got his GC he is on this thread talking about citizenship. This shows selfish mentality of some people. All greencard holders should work on helping people get GC behind them. People should not be allowed to abandon us and work on something else. We are not even getting Greencards and you guys want to work on Citizenship.
First help us all get Greencards.
eastindia, you are correct. GCPerm sometime back was on a "flower campaign" mode and was asking all IV members to send flowers so that USCIS will approve his/her green card ASAP. now that, it has been approved, the user has switched to a citizenship campaign mode.
GCPerm, a piece of advice. When a person volunteers for a cause to help others, the person should never think of how the result benefits them. If you look at IV members who are advocating for clearing this green card backlogs, by volunteering for the cause, they are not looking at how it benefits them, but how they can pave a way for future applicants.
When it comes to citizenship it is more difficult as I have personally seen people who are willing to continue with green cards for more than 20 years than taking up US Citizenship because they are more emotionally connected to their birth countries.
Anyway, note if you are sure of the fact that you want this campaign to continue even after six years of you starting it(by then you can become a US Citizen), then you should be promoting this.
Example, Aman Kapoor who started IV, got his green card and still fighting to clear the green card backlog mess.
Hope you understand the point. Nobody wants a leader who won't be able to continue once their ulterior motives are attained.

Here is what my attorney said.
"Completely false rumor. Legally impossible for retrogression to occur prior to Aug. 1. You'll be getting a Breaking News from us on it today or tomorrow."
Wish the statement from your attorney is true and we all will be able to file 485 through the month of July with no issue. I'm luckly to get the paper work done and ship the package to Attorney and waiting on their action, But have few friends who could get Medical Appointment only around second/third week of July. Also this EW Other Worker Quota that became unavailable and also rejection of these applications has made us worry a lot, although it is a diffferent category we are at fear that this could happen to us. Reading the VB again, the reduction in the EW annual limit to 5,000 began in Fiscal Year 2002... So this category has only 5000 Visas and I'm not surprised this bacame unavailable and think this category is far more crowded than others... We should be fine atleast in July... May be too optimistic... but nothing wrong in hoping for the best and wish all the members can file asap.

Before we ask Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren for any further help/support, don't you guys think it will be appropriate to first thank her in some kind of noble way? Any ideas?
I personally think (at least to begin with) a letter expressing gratitude for and our faith in her efforts would be a nice gesture.:)
Do we know for sure that this letter is in fact real? I mean yes it's on one website that has a link to a PDF document, but surely we can get it verified from another source (and I don't mean another immigration website forum) before we start sending her thanks and flowers.

but i expected California to be listed Alphabetically between Alabama and Colorado
since it wasn't there i just assumed there is no state chapter.
i doubt i would be the only one making this assumption.
Sure its trivial...but how many people made this assumption and just gave up looking for the state chapter?
Maybe its obvious to you but its not obvious to me that i should be searching for Northern and Southern California
i am contributing..and i have offered to handle some PR on here.. I don't live in DC so cannot do PR for the organisation there.
