Any suggestion on how we can approch sending the approved LCA later and ask USCIS to match it to the already submitted H1B petition?
I dont see a problem if you have I 485 Pending ( i assume you have EAD to continue working )
I filed my H1B 3 months later after joining a new job on EAD , i didnt have any problem

As a H1B holder, can I start a new company and volunteer for it while I am holding a full-time job for the company that sponsors me the visa? I am expecting the new company to gain a profit, of course.:)
Yes you can, start your company and volunteer for the company but not together :(
You can start your own company but can not work in it.
You can take a part time/ 2nd job by filing a 2nd H1 (the 2nd H1 will be in addition to your first H1), but you can't own that company!
Interestingly your wife can start a company and sponsor your 2nd H1 in her company ;)

Have you tried contacting your local congressman or senator's office? Many times, a request to take action on a pending case from a congressman's office has much better effect than a service request or infopass.

Yes got the receipt yesterday. Here are the details:
USCIS received my application on May 7th and my wife's application on May12th. USCIS posted both checks at the same time and both hit my account on May 21st. Received receipt notice on May 24th. I think USCIS waits for a couplle of weeks and then processes all applications at the same time - hence a delay - or a log of 2 -3 weeks.
It was an all papaer application.

You can be a passive partner (investor) in any startup (even without any visa). To be an active partner, you need to be a permanent resident or citizen in US. Here is a link for the details... Guess its easier.. and then they give negative reps instead of answers... Anyway.. Seems IV is losing focus and with this attitude of majority.. many more will go away...
I'll request all contributors to feel proud but don't boast all the time of your contributions and expect contributions from the others rather than questions...

People will contribute at their pace and in the manner they feel good... You just can't force them... without being an example...

As a side note, seems like the writers have sort of given up already on his last year of his presidency as the entire speech was rather mundane. In a troubled time for the entire country with the economy down, house market bust, recession looming, he chose to highlight the past and glorify to garner legacy.
Will it be a year of inaction? I hope not, lets us do our bit by supporting efforts of IV.

I dont think they will be enlisted, this is a easy way to get citizenship, man how long have you been in the US ?, if in the program, the folks will be guinea pigs for pilot programs and what not, probably fighting or cleaning toilets in Iraq, but hey in the end you get citizenship.
I am sure many will join this program, and they should, if they prefer to be citizens, then they should be prepared to fight for the country.
Looks like an interesting option for those in health care if you speak Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, etc. to get US citizenship within a few months without going through the green card process mess...

My insurance company (Progressive) is charging a ridiculously high rate for liability only insurance for my H4 spouse who currently holds a valid permit. They say the rate will go further up when she gets a perm license after passing the road test.
I have heard this issue from other H1Bs who have different insurance carriers than mine.
Have you guys found a cheaper alternative? Insurance agents etc??

i dont think tht has anything to do with ur/her status..u will have the same quote if ur a citizen of usa..it depends on things like ur/her crdit history, age driving history etc

I have question to you. I am July 2007 filer. My EAD and My wife EAD expiring on 09-25-2008. I applied both renewal Yesterday(06-24-2008 -90 days before).
recently My wife moved from H1B and working on EAD ( I am still working on H1B).
1. If we wont get EAD cards in time (i.e. before 09-25-2008). What will be her status after 09-25-2008 ?
2. Can she change back to H4 or can she change back to H1?
