My name is Josh Shaffer and I am an award-winning filmmaker from Long Island. I need FLASH animators who can put together roughly four minutes of FLASH animation for an upcoming project. Animation must be in my hands latest mid-August, so that's two and a half months, more than enough time for the material I need. Animation can be Flintstone style if needed, static body with moving facial expressions, arms and legs.

I lost my job.My 140 is approved and I 485 is over 180 days.I have 2 yr EAD .I was laid off on 6 th April and I see LUD on I-485 on 9 april.I am so much worried that I may get RFE.
What are my option if I get RFE on Employment before getting new job.How can I get my RFE from company lawyer becase Lawyer address is on my 485 Receipt.

I am 99.99 % confident that the soft LUD has nothing to do with your job loss. Had USCIS been that efficient to update our cases with in a couple of days of change request, we wouldn't have this messy immigration system. Lately, USCIS has been working aggresively to reduce the backlog of pending 485 applications applied during the July.2007 fiasco, by processing those applications. The "processing" means validating the application and the documentary evidences. If everything is fine with the application and the applicant's PD is also current, USCIS approves the I-485. If the PD is not current, USCIS preadjudicates the application and the application is kept pending until the PD becomes current. This triggers a soft update in LUD in I-485; besides, there are also several other scenarios that might trigger soft LUD in I-485.

Option 1 - Take Travel Insurance for 15 days. For young folks that is not pricey and covers emergencies.
Option 2 - Just ignore....It is a matter of 15 days. Insurance is good, desirable, and highly recommended......but it is not something that deserves too much worry for 15 days for any healthy person.
I would highly recommend against option#2. I had accident on first day of driving after coming back from India. I had been driving for 5yrs before it. Luckily nothing happened but you never know and that is why you have insurance. For this scenario check health coverage on your auto policy. But how many scenarios are you going to cover? Best to get some kind of coverage. It is not advisable to live in this country without health insurance. It can make you go back to your home country/file bankruptcy etc. Americans are not stupid to have such costly insurance policies.

They might not necessarily ask you, but its always safe to have the below documents.
In our case, they asked us once and the other time, they did not care.
1. Copies of Passport of both the parents (page with picture and name details)
2. A letter authorizing your in-laws to accompany your daughter.
Get it notarized if you can. If not, send the signed copies.
If you need a format for the letter(nothing fancy, was drafted by myself), let me know, I can dig out the one I used.

Has anyone claimed unemployment benefits in EAD in TX state after being laid off? Can you please tell whats the procedure. I do not want to get into the debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state? I just need to know the procedure. Thanks.

Can you tell the name of the insurance company? My in-laws are planning to come here and I will be buying insurance for them. I will stay away from this company.
How can high-fever be considered as pre-existing condition? I though diseases such as diabetes, cancer, etc are pre-existing conditions. Right?

Here is my experience. I attended interview at Chennai Consulate on 06/23/08 (H1 approval notice - 2006). Got my passport back in 2 days. No PIMS delay as my info was already in their system. My daughter (H4 approval notice - 2006 and principal applicant is my husband) attended the interview on the same day. However, her info was not available in PIMS. They kept the passport and said it will be sent within a week. I sent an email (to ChennaiNIV@state.gov) on 07/02. They sent a reply asking me to contact them again in 3 days. By God's grace, she received her stamped passport on 07/04.
Now, answers to your questions:
Chennai appointments slots are normally open 3-4 weeks in advance. Make an appointment accordingly.
I think the info is added to PIMS on a routine basis. Making an appointment does not seem to have any effect. If, on the day of your interview, your info is there in PIMS, it is there. Otherwise, you will have to wait till the time they add it.
I normally go to Chennai as that is my regional consulate.
I am not aware of any specific way to make them add your info to PIMS (if it is already not there) before you actually attend the interview.
We have always followed one very successful strategy in all our visa dealings with US consulate namely, PRAY TO GOD.

EscapeVelocity - I do not have a link to an official docuemnt but it is possbile subject to time availabel on your H1. - The amendment takes the same steps like a new H1 but is not subject to a CAP.

If you filed G 28 then both you and Lawyer will receive the copy of RFE. In case you have not filed G 28 only you will receive the RFE copy. USCIS does not care who answers the RFE as long as it is satisfied with the response.
Not exactly correct. From my own experience. I filed G28 with lawer, only he has got RFE on my I 485, and even worse thing happened: his assistant send only partial answer on that RFE ( the medical) and "simply" missed that RFE asked about EVL (letter from employer) and never informed me on that. When uscis send RFE 2nd time ( asking to send all requested information together) only then lawyer contacted me and asked about EVL.
Both times I didn' get RFEs, moreover the lawyers assistant pretended that she couldn't find a Copy of 1st RFE. ( times between 1st and 2nd RFE was 7 days).

I would think writing back to the Senator's office regarding your email and the unrelated response you got from the office has frustrated you, as the Senators does not seem to understand the problems, and therefore you are asking for an appointment to meet with the senator and explaining it personally.
You may not get the appointment to meet with the Senator, but you will let them know how badly they are screwing up constituents complaints. By following up and actually meeting with an immigration staff members in the Senator's office will be good.

But Iam already in 7th year. Based on my situation I want to make sure whether Iam eligible or not for applying one more H1 while other (H1 appeal is pending). So I posted my request here too.

Since i had to spend US $ 70 on passportport photos during july 2007 filing, i wrote my own app to format passport photos. some of my my friends and i used it for filing AP the last couple years. i can email it to any of you if you want it. just PM me.
you would need .NET framework(minimum version 2.0) to run it.
it supports indian passport photos too (3.5 cm by 4.5 cm) :)
