    Hi,

    My husband and my EAD and AP renewal time is approaching. We were thinking to do it ourselves but we don't know how to do it.

    Could you please guide us in self filing?

    a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?

    b) What documents are required for renewing?

    c) Where can we find information regarding EAD and AP renewals?

    Thanks for your reply and I understand that AC21 can be used for job in same or similar occupation.

    But my questions is that what happen if my GC applied thru Emp A for "programmer analyst" with 60K and now I am planning to change my job with Emp B as "Sr. Program Manager" with 100K?

    Since my Emp A (GC sponsor) agree to continue the GC process, why do i need to invoke AC21 with Emp B?

    Looking forward to have your answer on this... thank you so much in advance...

    When you are with the same company that files your GC (not Ac21) is it fine if the amount on W2 (for each year) is less than the amount mentioned on the LC. Is there a safe zone bracket . Since GC is for future job I was wondering if it is a must that the W2 should reflect the amount that is more or at least same as the amount on the LC.

    If the intent is only to study, then she can pursue on H4 it self. And there are advantages to that.
    1. She can be under registered (as a full time student on F1 she must register for 12 credit hrs each sem. She will be out of status if she couldn't get a class or if a class is cancelled).
    2. Most of the univs. charge in state fee if the student is on H4 and has been in that state for more than an year. Therefore, the fee expenditure will be reduced by say 4 times
    3. Change to F1 in the last sem. and that makes her eligible for OPT.

    Hi,

    Few months ago while googling about GC related stuff I came across a link, which, after going through few subsequent links, lead me to a link on the dol website from where I downloaded these databases. They are very huge (> 30 MB) so if you tell me (PM) you employer name and PD then I can look through the database and let you know the job title and code.

    Thanks all - I understand an independent status for my wife is the solution. But saying that and working that out in real life is the difference.

    a) When peoples like me who are working here for 9+ yrs is having a hard time finding a new Job on H1 ( not just consulting employer a real employer) because major companies are scared of hiring a new H1 until the dust settles - It will be way difficult for my wife to create a new H1 position.

    b) Regd. F1 it has to be a fulltime course and we have a 2 yr old Kid. Sending him to daycare , finding a Fulltime course for a new F1 and funding both operations by a single Job may be another challenge.

    I was wondering if the respected lawyers here at IV could first show me some direction and i'll follow that.

    For example if the minimum requirements of the job is BS with little or no experience, you would be in an EB3 category, irrespective of whether you have a MS or a PhD.

    I am a lil bit confused here. If there is a job that requires little or NO EXPERIENCE, would it be hard to find a US Citizen?

    Is there a law that grant green card for a person who's been in the States legally for more than 10 years?

    No, not that for 10 years.

    Howeve, the I-485 can be filed based on residency, if the applicant has been US resident since before Jan 1st, 1972.

    The applicant need to
    1. secure a signed SSA-795 from the individual indicating the beginning and ending dates of all periods of residence in the U.S. The statement does not have to include the complete street address. The town and/or State is sufficient.
    2. a statement which shows no absence of longer than 6 months is sufficient to determine continuous residence in the U.S. since before January 1, 1972.

    If you don't send the name change request with supporting documents before your wife's I485 is approved you will end up spending another $370 for filing I90 ( the fees includes bimetrics fees which is mandatory for I90)

    Change of name in bank, SSN, DL and passport is very simple and easy if you have all the supporting documents for the name change ( marriage certificate or the affidavit)

    no u cant, u would need to take and infopass appointment, but you could talk to cust care and open an SR first.
    to talk to an IO at the texas service center use the following
    Call 1-800-375-5283
    Press 1
    Press 2
    Press 2
    Press 6
    Press 1
    Now enter your receipt number
    press 1
    press 1 (now listen to the case update info)
    press 3
    press 4
    (now if you listen a male voice prompting you to hold the call that means the call is going to IOs desk, if it says no IO is available, it will redirect it to NSC, you can hang up and try the next morning)

    remember u will have to call in the moring before 11.30 to be able to talk to an IO.

    I think, if you don't have labor doc, you can go to FLCDataCenter.com (http://www.flcdatacenter.com/) and search for MS Access document for the year when you file for the labor. If you have the number from the LC doc, search for that number in the access file and you will find the details of your case.
