If they can attach Dream Act as an amendment to the Defence policy Act why cannot they attach SKILL to the same. That is the question we should be acting on.
I think expecting Sen. Cornyn to do something now is kind of remote. He is going to be facing elections soon in 08. May be Cantwell is the one to do it.

Still waiting for FP ,called USCIS Customer service on Nov 06th,2007,rep advised to call after 30 days to file SR.
She mentioned delay is because my application was sent to Nebraska as it should have been,Nebraska transferrd to California ,California did my ecept and EAD and sent back to Nebraska for further action....don't know when.
I know people filing later than me and PD in 2006-2007 got their FP notices and FP done...

All the people who crib about red dots: There is nothing IV can do about it.
This is a feature of the forum software.If some one uses foul language in forum posts then admins can warn them or block them. It is not possible if they do it in comments.
Actuallly, I suggest IV kickout anyone who cribs about red dots or that someone is using foul language in PMs/comments.
Keep the eye on the ball guys. If you see all the bullshit the IV admins bare with some other guy showing up every few weeks asking questions as if IV Core is getting rich off of the contributions. And some other guy shows up with a great plan (no sarcasm intended) asking CORE to make his thread sticky instead of keeping the thread on top by bumping it every few hours or so.Then when the core doesn't respond to their idea/request to make the thread sticky start abusing them. They take all that in stride and still continue to pour their hearts into something they believe in.
Now here are people so worried that they got a red dot and need the grievance be addressed. If not they will be afraid to post. If all it takes some one to stop you from posting your ideas is to give a red dot, how can any progress be made?

For how long is USCIS issuing the EAD & AP these days?
My EAD got approved in 54 days. Online status went straight from Initial Review to Card Production Ordered. I got the CPO email last Friday (12/10/2010) - still waiting for the card. Not sure about AP as I did not apply for an AP this time.

You need to file form 4852. That is super easy and I have filed it once.
There are no problems with that whatsoever.
You employer cannot pull a single hairstring from your head. So do not worry about the legal notice. That is all bull. He is probably worrying day and night about the DOL complaint you made.
What you need to, further, is go to the local IRS office and talk to one of the employee about not getting your W-2. Not providing a W-2 is serious issue.

I don't think so. For an appeal - those boxes must be checked. Once again - I might be wrong.

If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.
IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.
Actually it is like the "Gareebi Hatao" (translation: Remove Poverty) slogan for the Democratic party. Something to be used in certain districts for election only.
Just like Gay Marriage issue for Republican party.

When you go for Fedex/USPS Express they takes your Name, Current Address in a page which has Pointer to the TRACKING NO. 1 copy comes to you , 1 copy goes out with Package and 1 Copy gets saved with FEDEX/USPS.

People can show someone elses fedex receipt and claim that they too mailed their application. How can USCIS find out which fedex receipt is for what application?

I think IV should lobby to have the DREAM Act applied to all children, whether legal or illegal.
I am a legal skilled immigrant, came her in 1995 and still in line for GC. My son aged-out 3 years ago, and daughter will age-out in a month. Both of them would be on path to GC and citizenship under the DREAM Act....only if they had come here as undocumented. The DREAM Act allows the benefit till age 30, whereas legal dependants age-out at 21. Why this discrimination against legal entrants?

I don't think consulting firms are alone to be blamed.
Lets say there are around 1000 consulting firms it the worst case there may be around 1500 firms which have a capacity to apply 15 H1B each.
still the number would come around 15000 to 30000 but the big 4 companies in India got 20,000 H1B last year, which means they might have applied around 45000 to 55,000 applications
my numbers may be bit off but i think Big 4 companies from India are doing more damage then consulting firms in US.
Guys.. i'm sick of this nonsense.. I mean this is ridiculous.. this is my second go around in this stupid lottery.. last year I hadn't graduated so they put me in the bachelors quota.. this year the freaking masters quota is full.. i have a genuine offer from one of the big 4 accounting firms.. and have work experience to back it up
i'm sick of these consultant firms.. i wish I could work for the uscis and weed out these miserable cheapsters.. 6 years toiling in their education system, paying the damn taxes, and waiting for 1 smart person to come along and tell them its time to take care of these consultant companies and their consultants who get the jobs based on deceit and conmanship..
simple non sense.. random selection .. my behind..
I really feel like sending flowers to the uscis similar to what the indian folks did last year..

Since we already applied for I-485, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Her employment letter (submitted) only says that she is employed with the company and her employment is valid till 2008.
Isn't valid/unexpired I-94 counts as legal status not the approval notice. Also what if the employee takes a un-paid leave of absence due to health reasons etc.
I am sure so many in the same boat. Is there anything we could do?
She would still need to be on the Payroll and reported as an employee, preferable from the date of COS, If making a case of vacation or medical leave.
