There is nothing to be worry about. Sooner is better that later. At this stage there is no form sent for Perm and you don't have to be worry about change of address and so on.
Talk to a good attorney too.

I am in the process of filing PERM. Ads have been placed etc and all the
formalities completed. Now, we are at a stage where the forms have to be prepared, signed and submitted. However, i am very unhappy with my attorney. He is unethical and i am afraid he will screw me up. So here are the questions
1) At this stage ( not yet filed PERM) but on the verge of filing, is it possible to change attorney or is the job order etc specific to the Attorney.
2) In form ETA -9089, in the Alien Work Experince section, it says to give the name of the aliens supervisor and the employers phone number.
MY attorney says this is not required. Any thought on this. Did your forms mention this ?
3) I am afraid my Attorney will deliberately mess up the form. What should I watch out for in the form before signing on it ?

Though I love the recent forum posts being displayed alongside the content on the home page, I think it's also a drag on the resources and takes down the main site at times because of issues with the Forums/DB.
We're all (mostly) techies.... we should be able to fix this and deliver higher SLAs for our web site...
Available to contribute and volunteer if required for this, as the core already knows. :)

Finally Greened. It's an amazing feeling.
Just checked my MAIL (Saturday) and it had my approval mail as well as Physical Card. Strangely both came in together.
Thanks to IV, I am not a donor but time and again I keeping making one time donations. This forum provides so much knowledge that money support is the most trivial thing that one can do.
Few more notes that might help other folks who are current in May and waiting to be Green

Received card yesterday. It is the revised design with machine readable info on the back of the card with 2 years validity.
Exact same dates and similar machine readable card for my spouse :). Original card was valid till 7/30/2010 - new card valid from 5/14/2010 - 5/13/2012. So she lost about 2 1/2 months.

when is the next 485 inventory list due from USCIS?

It is the RD of the 485 application that dictates the order of processing the application. In addition, for the application to the processed the PD must be current. Once the PD is current, it is the RD that matters.

Various reasons...time...schedule...other obligations etc...lack of readily available information on IV as an organisation or state chapter....too many steps to do simple things like joining the state chapter :)
ya some of the reasons seem ridiculous...but even small things easily hinder people who already have a busy life. They create mental barriers...where such tasks are just postponed rather than handled in an instant.
I am trying to get more of IV core members to take these small things seriously and have even offered to help in this regard.

Many like me don't have the time to search through forums as to what the number is for the call or where is the link for the chat. If its displayed on the main page "Click here to join attorney call" that would be so much easier and encourage a lot more participation.

I will be taking my child to India for the first time. She has a US passport, both parents are from India - I am not sure if I should just take the 10 yr visa for her or apply for the overseas citizenship card. Is there a benefit to use one over the other? How long does it take to process each of them? Please help. Thanks.

May be we can also try to reduce the retirement benefit age from 65 (or may be 67, or 70 I really don't know, whatever it is) 60. That will be tremendous help for early retirement. What do you say Mr/Mrs. Saralayar?

Still there are others who were screwed by employers and had to reapply labor and restart the GC process. When i talk to my congressman, all they say is that the PD is not current and they cannot help.
It was not a hearing, just a meeting with some of the people I worked with over the past year on the stimulus issue.
Anyway, I went to the meeting and presented the issues raised by people here and emphasized that the first priority is recapture. Of course I raised the other issues as well, presenting the argument that America will lose its competitive edge if its highly skilled immigrants return to their home countries or other more welcoming countries like Canada, the UK, and Australia.
One person at the meeting was skeptical that many people have been waiting more than 10 years, saying that she has never come across anyone waiting more than 6 years and that these must be special cases where the people were doing something wrong. Nice analogy but note that IV for me is like samplers. If I like what is being offered, I would donate. If I want some thing to be given as sampler, I will buy, contribute and market it. I cannot donate for samplers which were given before I knew abt it, even though some good people got benefited.
You will not talk all these analogy if you dont have the precious EAD. Since you have it.. well. If you dont believe it, just keep quit rather than berating IV and other's effort.

Has anyone asked attorney whether we can write our case number on the complaint letter without asking employer since LC(PERM) is filed by employer and the case number seems to belong to employer.
My HR and company hired attorney are always not cooperative to my GC and I want to clear things.
Don't take my question negative. I am fully supportive this 100% and appreciate guys very much. I am happy that we are doing something to make things better.

I copied the letter from Ron send it to my attorney asking whether I can send this letter with my case number on it. My employer is very cooperative but the problem is they do not have any idea on what green card process is. I will let you know once I get the reply from my attorney.
