i am working directly to the client, it's very big company and my immigration people told me it's randomly pickup one no need to worry.
i asked them is there any time frame and they mentioned no set of time frame for audit cases

I guess one has to pray for luck ! Is there no reason to worry? What if your case has been denied after 13 months of waiting , that's really bad luck.

This sucks.. I always thought it was those 245(i) illegals are clogging up EB3. Not sure what else is constipating the system so it barely gets past Nov 2001.

I sent it on Thursday Sep 11th before hurrican IKE to CGI Houston. Money order was cashed on Sep 23rd. Sent $60 including the express mail for returning the new passport. I haven't received yet. Calling them doesn't help a lot. Does anybody think going in person will help? Do I need to get an appointment to enquire about the passport application? Thanks in advance for your help.
Try contacting them via email ( check on website). I have received good response from email than any other form of communication.
Donot worry, CGI Houston is just a tad slow but they will get your papers done.

BREAKING NEWS: LOFGREN GIVES USCIS THREE DAYS TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), chair of the House Immigration Subcommittee, sent Secretary Chertoff a list of questions and a request for documents from USCIS to get to the bottom of the whole Visa Bulletin fiasco. The letter is very interesting not just because it puts a heck of a lot of pressure on DHS right now, but also because Lofgren's folks imply from the questions that USCIS was short circuiting established security clearance procedures to "pre-request" visa numbers from DOS. If it turns out full security clearances were not carried out, USCIS will either need to say that they had the legal justification (which would be a public relations disaster for the agency) or that they intended to complete the checks after the fact (which would be a direct violation of their own regulations). The only way to avoid answering the questions and to make this go away would be to eat crow and start working the case July cases.

I mailed my passport about 3 weeks back to SFO. Have not yet got it. Anybody done it recently?

My wife got her H1b petition approved but not the change of status, that is she did not get the I94 along with the approval (she was outside the country at the time of approval). I know that she should be going out of the country and get the visa before she can start working. But After some research I found that there is another option, which is filing "amendment petition".
Has anyone done this before. If anyone has done this please share your experiences.
Does she has any H1 visa stamped in her passport?

I sent to the address that was mentioned in the confirmation page. Yes I did see a LUD the next day after they received my documents.
But I am still waiting to hear from them about the Biometric appointment. Did any one here get approvals with out Biometrics after e-filing?

I am wondering if someone could please clarfiy whether the beneficiary can pay the fee for the H1 B petition and the fee for the lawyer involved in filing the petition.
I filed my first H1B through a University. I paid the fees for H1B extension in 2002. I wrote the check to USCIS.
A lawyer was not involved.

I did it for my wife and son, but thrugh an attorny, It costed me $375 total,
including the attorny fees. It is not required unless you leave the US.I had to do it to get an ID for my wife for DL purpose, as H4 approval notice was(I hope it is still) one of the accepted documents as 2nd id in VA.
Your wife may file for H4 without a lawyer. It costs $250 and I did it once. No issues at all, very simple and straight forward form / procedure.
Although not necessary to file H4 transfer )as this is not linked to employer directly but rather the H1 holder), it may become important when you leave US for visit home.

Is the birth certificate required for dependants too or just the principal applicant...Can someone please clarify.....My PD is not current (EB-3 India Nov 2003)..But hoping it will be current in a few months....So just want to keep all docs ready if the dates are current.....

Just one point Slumdog -- You know, I have never seen anyone who rents, writing this kind of a story and justifying his decision. I wonder, why not? Why do YOU have to justify over here? Are you justifying to others or you are justifying to yourself?
You put too much stress on "quality of life". One can have a good quality of life in a small apartment.
I keep telling my wife that our apartment looks small only when she goes to department stores and shops like crazy. Our walk-in-closet is the nearest thing to a Black Hole. Mass density is so high in that area that pretty soon even light would not come out of it.
I strongly believe in "Simple Living, Hight Thinking". I can not say I implement it all the time, however, I try to keep it in my mind during my decision making process.

I tried calling NSC, after I punch in my receipt#, it says accessing your record but then it gives me message "Due to temporary problem with our system, we can't access the information". I tried calling again 10 minutes later and got the same message. Anybody else facing same issue?
Yep...I got the same message the first time. After disconnecting and trying again, I was able to get my case status info. Try calling again after sometime.

I'm just curious to know why Zoe Lofgen's website does not show this letter in press releases like her previous letters. The letter is awesome and has all aspects of a legal notice. Looks like she is going to sue USCIS herself on our behalf! :D

"masterji", your and my case are almost identical. I am also EB2I with PD in Nov 2005 filed at NSC. I also called USCIS and opened an SR yesterday. I also received "Card Production Ordered" for me and "Decision" for my wife today with the exact same text as yours. Are you my lost twin? :D:D:D

My 485 petition is with NSC. I opened an SR last month and got a rather uninformative response today. It does not tell me if my petition has been pre-approved or has even cleared the background check.

The status of this service request is: Your file is currently with the adjudications department, waiting on the availability of an officer to be assigned your pending case. Please allow at least another 90 days to hear something further on your application.
"
I think last month they were not working on Feb 06 cases and probably they have assigned your case to a officer by now ...just pray and hope to see approval soon
