To all IV non participating members (DC event),
The phenomenal experience of actually doing something positive to solve our problems is priceless. Every member that came to DC from all across America were dedicated and focused - many volunteered to help the IV Core (and in spite of doing many things ahead of time, there was much more things that needed attention!!).
On Monday and Tuesday, while I manned the phones, it was heartwarming to get calls from members who were in the Hill, calling and asking for more meetings - If they finished their meetings and had time before the next meeting, they called in to say - "is there a group we can join - so that we can be in a larger group?" or while they walked in the hallways, they would spot their congressman/congresswoman's office - and call in to ask if they could go in and just introduce themselves and ask for an audience. Mind you, this is not an easy task nor did they get to talk to staffers - but I am just acknowledging the great enthusiasm that was vibrating with our members - they realized the gravity of the situation, the opportunity that was within their grasp and wanted to make the best use of it. Hats off to you guys!!
IV realizes that our strength lies within our members and their dedication - both in terms of participation and funding. And if there is one thing that almost every single participant took home from the event is that - we still have a long way to go and we need far more support and participation.
Please contact me and I will put you in touch with the leaders from your state. I cannot stress enough on how important being involved in this process is............ The July fiasco has led many of our members to get their EADs and has lulled them into false security. If your goal is just EAD, please continue with what you are doing but if your goal is to get green card or citizenship - NOW has to be your wake up call.

To my knowledge it is Notice Date.
People we have a question, throw us some light now that our application officailly falls under current dates....
Our service center is Texas Center and the dates -
Priority Date - Oct 18 2004
485 Received Date - Aug 17th 2007
485 Notice Date - Oct 16th 2007
The current processing time for Texas Service Center is August 23rd 2007. Do they process based on reciept date or notice date? No green card for you. Just work well for 6 years, enjoy life in US, enjoy sports cars by renting, not by buying, rent a big house, have a lawn and garden in back yard, grow your own vegetables. Have nice vacations like Hawaii, Jamaican islands, Vegas, Porto Rico etc.,Have fun in life. Do not go for green card. After 6 years, get nice job in India,own apartment near to office and ask your parents to live with you. Take kids to school . Have fun with them. Try to become director, AVP,VP,SVP,CEO,CTO and President. Do not go for green card. After you become director, buy a single family home and mercedez or BMW and have fun. Retire by the time your kids become earners. Grow vegetables in back yard. Do gardening and have fun. Thats how life should be. Do not hope for green card. H A V E F U N.

Please stop taking out the frustrations on IV. It is very easy to do. All you need to do is write a post. But doing some real action is the challenge.
We are all like you and in this together. We try to create action items and guide and try to lobby within our limited time, energy and means. Everything else is dependent on members. If members contribute funds we lobby hard. If members are not even willing to contribute $5, and we can only get less than 5K in more than 2 months, how can we accuse core? If members write letters to administration or USCIS, call lawmakers, meet lawmakers etc that directly helps everyone. Members need to involve their big employers and have them contact administration and local lawmakers. We all need to contact media and raise awareness. We all need to create publicity of this effort so that more people can join it and make it successful. We will help you all the way in this effort. Come and travel to DC with all your state chapter members and meet officials. Try taking part in conference calls, answer emails and calls from all kinds of members and non-members, media outreach and mundane official work of IV yourself during office hours and you will see how difficult it is to manage this for IV team.Take days off from your work spend your own money on travel and hotel and visit offices and talk to lawmakers in DC. We will help you with the meetings. IV core has been doing that and we get such brickbats through such posts.
Just accusing IV, writing posts about ideas or action, and asking IV to wake up will not solve anything. This is a community effort and each IV member is responsible for the failure or success. IV leaders already devote lot of time from their professional and personal life on this effort. Individual members need to step up if they want more and take it upon themselves to get active.
I am sorry to say this Pappu, but honestly I do feel one thing. There are some things that IV can do without spending money(which I think are not being done). For example, it can lead everybody everybody to send letters to USCIS and congressmen and the press for justice highlighting abrupt actions of USCIS. I made so many pamphlets in the thread "Lets get Organized" which can be sent alongwith to make an impact. It is not about eb2 or eb3, it is about accountability and transparency from USCIS. It does not involve any money from anybody excepting a 41 cents stamp on the letter which I think most of people should be ready to spend. However, the push from IV seems to be missing.

I don't know if the memo thing is correct or not but I did call NSC using POJ method and I was told not to expect anything before Oct 1st.

Everyone in this forum knows that I am a complete moron: I did not even know ROW and Schedule A. So it does not make sense in paying attention to my advice. I still have the audacity to request everyone to pay more attention to the following.
Both sides have very valid points. A healthy debate on the topic is insightfull specially to morons like me. However, it is sad to see contributing members fighting over an issue that we may NOT have to resolve. I wish we had such a vigorous debate on generating contributions which will serve some purpose.
I agree Macaca. It never ceases to amaze me, how willing and ready everyone on here is to start a rousing argument over the smallest things instead of focussing on the main goal!

Yes, you may end up blocking strive act, but what will happen then is all your jobs are going to start disappearing to eastern europe, China, India and any other place possible. I don't know if you work in high skilled labor market but if you do, I am sure you must have noticed the large number of engineers, doctors, architects who are immigrants and contributing to this society. Anyway, I think discussing this point with you is pointless.
Anyways, you are welcome on this forum. You can express your opinion as much as you want. I don't think we (or you for that matter) are going to gain anything by arguing online. Just an observation - There always seem to be a gap of 2 months between Receipt date and Notice date.
So for July 2nd filers, there notice date would be September 2007. But they all got GC last yr when they made it current till 2006 PD. However processing times arent Sept 2007 even now which makes me believe its the receipt date?
What do you guys think.

Labor substitution was never illegal unless you have purchased it. Hijacking the priority date is incorrect according INA. If you are not feeling pity about the fellow immigrants who suffered injustice (also from India) you are selfish a individual. FYI more than 60% of the 2007 July fiasco were substitutes I am neither IV core nor you (as per Profile). So all these guys can do is to bring this issue to their attention. So they can decide this battle needs to be fought or not.

As for as fighting is concerned you are the one who started the fight calling them jealous. Since you do not have any points you are using such slurs. Please be gracious on such forums. Even if this is successful it will not affect you because your priority date was current when you applied the I-485. There might be delay which you can overcome by fighting for removing the country quota.
I justified 'jeolous' as I was jeolous too, when I could not get one lcsub for me. However thinking about it from all angles, I did overcome it now.
