Hi Everyone,
My AP is valid until JUNE 27 2011, (Here is the line from the I-512L, Presentation of the Original Document prior to June 27 2011 allows a customs and border protection inspector at a port-of-entry to parole the named bearer) I'm travelling to India during May / June and will be entering LAX back on June25. Will this be an issue as my AP is expiring in next couple of days.
Experts please let me know your thoughts on my situation whether it is safe to travel and getting in back will not be of an issue.

Technically, there should not be an issue. But as the other poster suggested, it may be better to extend it since you are still outside the 120 day window for application.

The U.S. Government has undertaken a variety of efforts since September 11 to enhance border security. If you are traveling to the U.S. with a nonimmigrant visa, and are taking a short trip(s) to Canada and Mexico, review the Automatic Revalidation webpage on the CBP website. Anyone who has applied for and been refused visa issuance at a border post is prohibited from re-admission or re-entry to the U.S. in the same visa category, even though they are in possession of a valid I-94 form. Travelers who are citizens of countries on the State Department's list of State Sponsors of Terrorism are prohibited from re-entering the U.S. using solely an I-94 form if their visa has expired.

When they do FP, they tries to match with criminal database. Why do they want to match to the Port of entry or Security clearance database and give RED color warning. I think it is something you need to work with your attorney. Even in Name check, they tries to match with Criminal first, middle or last names and if match found, they do some investigation on your case. Same logic goes with FP. They won't match with good records, but they tries to search in bad records. It is simple common sense. Nothing to panic, but check with your attorney.

SO as soon as the finger printing is done, within a fraction of a second, they match your fingerprints to the criminals and even let you know that by displaying a Red sign.
Leos link has the answer, the red match found error is simply an error between your finger prints taken together and then done individually.
The Service rep also individually goes thru all the FPs to check if the FPs taken together match those done individually.

Of course you can work. Sometimes I worked extra 10 hrs/week and max I did was 20hrs/week. It is good to have more money than your LCA amount.
Is it legal to work overtime when you are on H1B? I have been working more than 40 hours a week ever since I got my H1B (about 5 hours overtime per week on average). They pay me time and half for the hours over 40.
The reason I ask is that I need to send a couple of paystubs as my parents are travelling to the US soon and I do not want the guy at the port of entry make a bid deal of my overtime hours (if he looks at it and finds out, which I doubt).
The person that stamps your passport and I-94 at the port of entry, is he an immigration officer or who is he? I am writing a letter for my parents to carry with them to show that person if asked for it and not sure who to address the letter. Thanks.

Your mention of 30 miles maximum, I believe, refers to distance to your work place. It is a lot of distance to commute at rush time. Nevertheless, Ferederick County is your best bet, where a small SFH or a good size TH can be found for your price.
BTW, why do you need "Lots of Indians". Don't you want to be part of the main stream if you have decided to live here?
I want to purchase an house in Washington DC/MD/VA. My office is close to Rockville. Please recommend the best place to buy an house based on the following criteria.
1> Very good school district
2> Low property tax

I saw similar set of replies for a woman who sought help regarding her status for entering the country without passport from Canada (which was legal pre 9/11) and then divorcing the dude she was married to. Some righteous pricks called her names and gave red dots generously.
Seriously if you don't have constructive advise just keep your mouth shut. Nobody needs you to bring your vigilantism and judgement ion other people. A few too many pricks are the reason a lot of us get turned off of this site.

Hi All,
Here is my case , when i went to f1 - h1-b stamping in mexico, they issued me 221-g & asked me to got to india for stamping..( but they allowed me to enter usa)..later i applied for AP & EAD, got both ( recently i got i-140 query)
(RFE due date Mar10)
Here are my doubts:
1. can i go to india & comeback with AP in hand
2. Do i need to wait for my i-140 approval
3. my question is what if my i -140 rejects ??
Appreciate your feedback..

I would say the safest way would be to get I140 approved first. If I140 is denied, your I485 is in most cases denied at the same time, and then you become illegal if you are in the U.S. after entering on AP.

I think AC21 can only be used successfully if your I-140 has been approved. But again if you read the previous post by my2cent , I think that makes sense as it all depends on employer.
As for AC21 law, it is associated with an approved I-140 and not a pending I-140.
