My lawyer sent me the fedex tracking sheet for the I-485 package sent to:

Nebraska Service Center
850 S Street
Lincoln, NE 68508
I did not see any PO Box on the Fedex tracking sheet. I am not sure if she put the PO Box on the shipping label or not??
Is it a big deal?? Will my application be accepted.
Please help

I just got approved for my 3 year extension I am on my 7 th year now.
I just got a request from HR saying that I need to sign a promissory note for the total amount spent by my employer on H1b realted fees.
So in short they are asking me to sing the promissory note to get reimbursement for part of the lawyer fees I had paid for this visa extension.
Here are the important points:
0. Total amount is like $3K.
1. 50% owed after 1 year
2. 0% owed after two years of service.
3. 100% owed when employment is terminated by either party :-0
4. 10% per annum interest after the 31st day of termination.
Is this even legal , or it lies in the gray areas for any body to interpret anything they want.
I dont care about the money, but I think this is borderline harassment.
Note:This is not a desi consulting co.

Any body can ask for documents. But if you ask as part of a law suit, they will have to give it to you. Otherwise, they can just say some nice words and that will be the end of it.
This is what happened to the China-man. They filed a law suit, so DOS/USCIS gave them the information. But DOS/USCIS now hates the China-man.
IV is being very nice to DOS/USCIS. So DOS/USCIS is also very nice to IV.
If you file a lawsuit you can ask for documents.

Thanks for reply, if you don't mind, do you have the USCISs' announcement link about this pre-adjudication ? Does it say those who pre-adjudicated will not get any future RFE/Denials ?

I am on H1B visa. My parents due to a medical condition cannot take care of themselves. They need someone to be present with them 24 hrs a day. Can I get them on H4 visa as dependent? I would like to keep them for 2-3 years in US and take care of them. Please let me know my options.

Parents are not considered dependents . So i am not sure they can come on H4 visa. I can understand the situation ( being the only son of my parents with deteriorating health ). Once in a while i think of getting rid of this stay in USA and heading back home and caring for the ones who raised me to adult hood.
There may be more avenues , let more knowledgeable people in this forum comment.

If your application is excessively delayed, you can always enter using a valid AP. Gurus correct me if I am wrong.

My current employer gurantee that he will not withdraw I-140. I also talked to lawyer and she said it is individual choice but it is always good to let USCIS know since your case is pending..
However, I am little nervous since I heard that USCIS is rejecting I-485 for straight forward AC21 cases. Can't really think which way should go?

Recently I have got Denial notice from INS on my I-140 application. All the documents are fine. Just They have mentioned as My Education Qualification is not equivalent to US Education. My Education is B.Sc. Physics and MBA.
Is anybody has got same problem, and if yes Please let me know what to do in this situation.
I am thinking of getting good Education Evaluation from Somebody. But I don't know it�s just happened because of Lawyer. Do I need to go to smart , strong Attorney to do this. OR Apply for new labor again and start the process.

Proves that we are not cheap labor and we are not driving the salaries down. I know citizens in my position in my company are not being paid more than me. We had waited for three months to fill a position and we have to compromise in the end because we could not get enough resumes to go through.

Things r getting bad in the US...I'd suggest better move to Canada now and start a business if u have saved enough to start one. Wait for citizenship and come back later on a TN Visa which is valid forever (barring the pain of yearly extensions u shudn't have any other issue).
In the US u cud lose ur job anytime however stable it might look like now. Else what was the point in applying for Canadian PR and all the pains u took???

Getting CIR passed (or even bring back to attention) may not be that easy. These types of raids are increasing and many people are thinking that goverment is doing something about an important problem.
Bringing back CIR and passing it will entirely depend on the political moves of the two parties and important players. Any raids and resulting street rallies are not going to do anything. If you want proof just see last years momentum and what happened eventually.
This year's political composition was different. Anti-immigrant majority politicians and do-nothing attitude was the cause of inaction.
Next year the political composition is widely acknowledged to be pro immigration. So the results are likely to be different.
Am I missing something here?

My AP was los in mail too (see signature). In my case I had gone to India to get 8th year H1 stamping, when the UPS guy left it at my door and I never got it. Yep, UPS, not USPS, this package was sent by my lawyer who knew I was in not at home :)
I called USCIS when I got back and they said I should re-apply if I need to go outside of US and re-enter on AP in next year, else don't worry.

I don't agree with what mbawa2574 has to say,but I certainly disagree banning mbawa for expressing views. I think, mbawa2574 is well within limits of posting anything that could hurt IV image/goals. ( On this thread, I mean).
What's the damage caused to your effort?( apart from deleting threads )
I'd rather help channel his thoughts and energies in a direction that helps IV than ban him.

I'm sure you understand by now that IV is made of just you, me and bunch of other anonymous keyboard monkeys.

Just because anyone can post anything on IV website to get visibility on the homepage, its not ok to abuse the resources of the organization. We did not create IV to promote democracy or freedom of expression, there are ample of other sites to promote democracy and freedom of expression, you are free to use those resource at your liking. IV website is for a single purpose of achieving the goals we have set for the organization. You can find our goals on the website. And anything that conflicts with our goal will be removed. Its easy to use terms like democracy, freedom of expression etc to defend actions that malign the good effort put in by others. To make things clear, IV's objective is not to promote or preserve democracy/freedom of expression. We have a goal to achieve and we will not deter from our goal, whatever it takes.

I am working in Company A and currently on OPT. My 2008 H1visa has been approved. It will be effective on Oct.1st. Now I got a much better job offer from company B, and need to join the new company in July. How can I transfer my H1 visa? Thanks a lot in advance. even if in july bulletin the dates move back, think anyone can file till jul31st.
The applications will be valid as long as it is post marked before 31st july.
thanks dallasblue...these things were freaking me out...my family is in india and plan to come back on july first week...i just didnt want to apply on july 15th and then realize that the dates were retrogressed mid month...that would be a big deal...
these lawyer websites are posting that they can stop accepting applications mid month without even putting out any notices...i just wanted to ask someone if anybody have any known record of this thing happening in the past...i am still worried because of this what appears to be baseless fact...but since it comes from a lawyers website my doubt still remains...can someone please help me with some conclusive facts???:confused:
