you are dreaming about points 1 and 2 as marked in your post below. democracy is about govt by the people for the people. got nada to do with taxation. Maybe you live near washington dc and are confused with what they write there on the asses of their cars. 2. people who earn a living from your tax dollars are answerable only to constituents... and you my friend are not a constituent until you become a citizen with voting rights.

I agree with rajuram. We are all tax payers. 1. The whole concept of democracy is taxation with representation. 2. People who get paid from my tax dollars are answerable to me as much as they are to anyone else. Even when cis is not forcing me to file gc, its still equally answerable to me for my tax dollars to tell me why they are not doing their jobs properly. And for that cis owes us all apology. What's wrong with that?

also one more thing is that my previous attempt for GC with my previous employer was more that 4.5 years for the labor to be cleared and unfortunately I had problems and quit that employer.

Completely agree with your message that - prefer unprocessed food and do everything in moderation.
However, are you suggesting blue label is healthier than a cheaper whiskey, its funny.
And - although I agree that some traditional breakfast items could be low on fats/calories .. some of them are not (aalu paratha, pakoda etc), so cereal/oatmeal or egg white is an alternative.

Few things to remember
1. It is good for us if EB1 remains current for India and ROW - chance of some visa numbers trickling down.
2. The H1B cap is still 65,000 + 20,000 + some extra for non profit and a sizeable portion of this is Indians meaning other nationalities are not applying in large numbers. What this means is that the whole 45,000 EB1 and 45,000 EB2 will likely not get used from 2008-9 (by that ROW EB3 ROW will start becoming close to current and people from ROW will not try to find a way to apply for EB2 like they are doing now).
3. People will try to port their EB3 date to EB2 and some will meet success but others might fail. This will be particularly true for Indians.
Put all this together, I think any Indian who applied for GC in Eb2 or 3 post 2004 will probably have to wait the same amount of time in either category, maybe a year less in EB2. Given that you are anyway going to have to wait 7-8 years minimum, one year more or less does not make any difference.
I think people from India with post 2004 Pri dates should
a) Actively work for some meaningful legislative change, contact all your friends and make them aware of this problem, please do not just sit there and hope for a change
b) Make solid backup plans, whatever they might be - consider UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore as backups. Learn as much as you can in your present job and change jobs if you feel you are stagnating. Do not keep your career in limbo for GC when the earliest you will get it is after 7-8 years. Imagine this - if you are 25 now, you will be in your mid-thirties doing the same job if you wait for your GC.
c) Save, save, save - I cannot reiterate this, basically do not spend a dollar more than you need to. Buy a full efficient cheap car, rent a place (house prices are stagnating) etc. Do your due dilligence and post new ideas here.
d) Find a way to lobby to get back your SSN and Medicare taxes - Indian govt. is making noises about this, use your connections to make the noise louder.
e) Last but not the least, If married and planning to start family, do not wait until they change law to ban birth right citizenship :).

Is there any quota on filing the I 140s? My friend requested his employer for upgrading his 140 and he says that the attorney mentioned that the quota for I 140 is already full. I don't think it is right. Any inromation please.
There is no quota. The employer can file for I-907 diectly without invoving the lawyer. The attorneys are not likely to help you now since they are swamped. I'd say ask the employer to file today. Else wait a month!

I've tried several times recently to check my status at TSC. Each time I get the same reply, " We do not do status checks any more. Please contact National Customer Service, and do a referral and open a Service Request."

I am having the same problem. i did not know about the 180 days rule until my LC had expired. what did your lawyer tell u to do? did he call uscis to explain? did he call DOL to see if they could extended the LC? please reply to this. i am going to lose my PD of 020106 if i can"t get them to accept the LC.

work for decent size company (1500 employees).i am the only non citizen/non gc holder
applied eb3 and stuck since 2003.gained masters in 2006
planning to apply to EB2 with different title .
my employer is requesting to apply eb2 for masters with 7 years of experience as requirement
in general if i look at DOL websites ,most positions requirements says masters plus 2 years like that
does that mean its guaranteed audit like that meaning do they question or is it possible
any experiences who ported are appreciated

They should be able to tell you if the I140 is assigned to a I485. For me it is academic now because as of March I'll be within PD for EB3 or EB2.

Good that I never worked with him before leaving states. obviously I got a 221G, but now a big company has recruited me from India. I am again nervous if they can transfer my H1-B(which I never used).
Now do I make some sense?

Nope. That is not true. Either the company/lawyer is screwing your friend!
You can avoid the waiting period by using "Notice and Consider".
I had the same experience with FDBL lawyers, those guys were awful.
Luckily BAL took over, and they mentioned about "Notice and Consider" and did make use of that for labor filing.
Hope this helps.

(have to file new I9 and specify how you could work) . Do you mean she has to file for a new I-94 ? How to go abaout doing it.
