My employer is refusing to give me EB3 I-140 copy so I am stuck. Can I not port from EB3 with old employer to EB2 with new employer without copy of EB3 I-140 COPY.. It is a huge firm and they say it's against company policy to give me even a photocopy of the document, please advise.
Also, I am not planning to quit the old firm just file a new EB2 labour with new firm. I do not have copy of old I-140 for EB3, is there anyway I can still port my PD from EB3 to EB2. I do not want my old employer to find out about this. Is this possible ?

The bill would void the new fee structure set to take effect today and reinstate the previous fee structure. The bill also states that USCIS has consistently failed to reduce application backlogs and has suffered from a lack of transparency and effective management.
�Our immigration services need to move into the 21st century,� stated Rep. While I agree that USCIS needs to modernize its existing infrastructure and procedures, they must do so in a transparent and open manner. After repeated requests over several months, USCIS has yet to provide Congress with a detailed plan for its infrastructure modernization efforts. Our immigration system should be both effective and fair; sacrificing one to achieve the other should not be an option.�

The scanned the bar code on the fingerprinting notice and asked to verify the A#, dob etc. that popped up on the computer screen. I think the receipt number was there too.
Does any one remember if at the time of finger printing for 485, did they enter the Receipt Number, A# or both in their computer.
I am have some issues with multiple A#s and I need this information.
Please reply only if you are sure.

I would wait it out if I were you. Why the risk at this stage?
Risk/Benefit analysis is not in favour of anything but staying put if you ask me.
What if in the 8-9 months it will take to get to this stage, the EB3 date skips forward, worse yet what if they take a hard stand on conversion cases due to the number they are seeing and you get denied.
It all depends of course on your personal circumstances, but I can't see the logic in it.

I recently got my EB1 I-140 approved. Now my lawyer wants to apply for the I-485 but I am unemployed currently. What are my options in this case? Do I show I am self-employed and apply the I-485 or wait till I get a job.
Just as a background I already have a EB2 Employer based I-485 in process and therefore have the EAD and AP in hand. The EB2 I-485 was applied in 2007 so it is past the 180 days period.
Urgent help will be greatly appreciated.

In Ohio, they issue a DL for one year from the application for H1B extension if the H1B has not been approved yet. It might be the same case in NC as well - it might be worth checking.

this is just like what people talk about IRS. I got packet in mail asking to contact immediatly field officer at local office regarding 2006 tax returns. Thinking worst, I didn't even go beyond subject line and everybody I talked or told, scared me to death. Finally, I mustered up courage to go line-by-line. Didn't understand what they were talking about and neither did the notice had my name or SSN. So left with no-choice, called IRS and found that documents were for previous resident!
Lession for me (and all) ... if you haven't done anything wrong intentially, their is nothing to be afraid about.

I don't think you read his question- He/She wanted to know if the FP can be done in an American Consulate General in India if he gets his FP notice while he/she is in India.
Does anyone know of this situation and if any consulate in India can do the FP?
If you get your FP notice while in the US go to the ceter any day at 7.45 am before the center opens and request the staff to do the FP.They generaly oblige.I did it in Los Angeles.

They should exempt PIOs from this new rules. If back from a vacation and there was an emergency back home ( within 60/90 days?), can't i take my US citizen kid to India ?

If they'd only "fix" the Social Security Card to be more secure, I'm sure you'd reduce much of the illegal employment. the way the SS card is designed right now, anyone could print out as many of these on his home printer.
