If I have approved LC and I140, can't i get 1yr (or if PD dates are retrogressed get 3yr) H1 extension??
if dates are retrogessed you get 3 year extensions..

- What it means is different depending on who you say it to and also the context.
In a meeting when you say that it means you either don't have a clue or you don't want to talk about it as it either is less important than what ever else you have to say or it will only prove how inefficient you are.
However, when you say that to the Senate committee it means that you will have to get back with at least a 3-10 page report. It would have helped had Myorkas been more supportive upfront but what the heck... The Senators already know the answer anyway. They were just asking for support from Myorkas.

I don't use Actions unless I write them myself. Sometimes I don't feel like doing effects over and over so I write the action and use that.

My mother has 10 yr multiple entry visa. She is planning to travel from Bangalore India to USA through Lufthansa Airways. She has a stop over at Frankfurt airport for about 3 hrs. Does she need to get a transit visa for that. Any recent experience or suggestion? Thanks.
If you have a valid US/Canada visa stamp, then you do not need a transit visa for Germany.

I received a Transfer notice today for both me and my wife suggesting that our I-485 petitions have been transferred to the local USCIS office. Below is the exact message.
Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing because it has jurisdiction over the case.
On April 30, 2009, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our LOS ANGELES, CA location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. Yahoooooooooooooo......We (Me and my wife) received welcome notice today . Our 485 is approved on 25 th March.
no updates online just received postal mail from USCIS today .
I guess end of long wait , been in country from 2001 .
I wish you all the best and hang in there if your PD is current you can expect the notice any time so keep checking your postal mail box .
FYI - I dont know if my back ground check is clear or not , I guess it is .

My employer has been trying to find a project for me but till now he couldnt get anything.
Its been 6 months alreay since I am on H1B visa.

But I am worried that if I file complaint ,my employer will threaten me telling that I faked my experience and submitted fake resumes.

I'm EB3 (ROW)...PD: May 2006. My I485 is pending more than 18 months and I140 is approved a year ago. Recently, my boss fired me. I left the company and got a better job within a week. thanks god.
I am kind of confused as to what you have said. Did your boss fired you or you yourself left the company? I do see both the statements in your post. Its indeed sad that these employers churn the employees

Now my ex-employer is calling my lawyer and bringing some alligation against me and asking my lawyer to withdraw my case. He also mentioned to my lawyer that he is going to call the immigration and take action against me by withdrawing my case.
What are the aligations? If he fired you from the job, thats the end. Am I missing something here? Is there more to the story? Do post the details so that we may try to understand the situation and provide any assistance we possibly can

I am also going to India and will be attending appearing for interview at Chennai consulate. I wanted to use AP, but I-140 which was filed on Feb 2007 at NSC is still pending.
Indian consulates do not check the details in PIMS in advance, unlike some consulates in Mexico and Canada. I have written to Chennai consulate and they said they wouldn�t verify my information until I appear for interview in person. I wonder why different consulates have different policies.
But according to murthy.com, PIMS system is more comprehensive now and should have more people in it (as communicated by USCIS to ALIA)

I think what you are looking for is information classified by degree name. That level of detail is not available.

Hi,
I applied for H1B through a company for year 2010. I am currently on H4. As per this company, my application reached USCIS on April 7th. We have not got any receipt for this so far as per what the company says. My question is, is it possible that USCIS will take this long to issue the receipt number ? Is there a way to find out whether USCIS have received my application indeed. When I call the company who applied the H1, they keep saying we haven't heard back anything from USCIS. Can you help in answering my questions ?

Fine by me if they do offer some SLA. That's always been missing. Thats what I exactly pointed out in my comment. If they were to return my money back if they do not meet their SLA, no one will have issues. or just have PP for almost everything and give equal importance to people who either value time or money.
