Hi,
My parents will be visiting in the year end and I want to send them the required documents to get the visa application going. Can anyone here post a template for the following -
1. Invitation letter from the sponsor to the visitor visa applicant
2. Letter to consulate by the sponsor
Also for bank statements, can I use the prinout from PDF available online from my bank website (banf of america)? Do these printouts need notarization?
I would appreciate any info.

send faxes to congress /house...it is in the house where bills get structured.
make sure u add only the SKIL bill...just remove cap for ppl with advanced us degrees...that was the only thing the house had agreed to consider

it aint rocket science guys....think about it from the lawmakers point of view....would they allow for more immigration frindly reforms now....no way...so be ready to compromise and suggest the ones which are truly benefecial to the US economy....

I had both PERM and I-140 copy. I think I-140 should be enough. Any way check with the lawyer, of the new company before resigning from the current one.
You should get 3 years, in a normal case, depends on the reviewing officer. If not you can apply for H1-Extn based on approved I-140 from prev employer ( Current Employer should not revoke it, I think) . I changed twice after I-140 and both times i got 3 years.

This can go both ways as the company's have a right to protect their intellectual property and on the same was that non compete legal (meaning if you challenge that in the court, can the judge say yes this needs 5 years of non compete).
since non compete was not required at time of joining the job, I don't see any way where at time of leaving they can force a overly broad condition. imagine if you working in a software company and they make you sign agreement, AT TIME OF LEAVING, that you can not work in same industry for next 5 years, what are you gonna do ? flip burgers for next 5 years ?

Just called USCIS to find out the estimated processing time to get gc for indyanguy. you will get it in 265 days and 2 hours.

I am in the same boat.
I applied I-140 in premium processing(Labor applied Apr 2004, Approved Jan 2007). Got RFE to show 5 yrs of exp. My Lawyer replied to RFE on 26th July and USCIS received the documents on 30th of July 2007.
The problem is that USCIS site is showing that they will take upto 60 days to reply. Though I have applied in Premium processing but I guess they answer queries in normal time.
There is a 50-50 chance of getting my RFE cleared. Please suggest:
1. Can I file I-485 before 17th Aug ?
2. If I can, do I have to pay old Fees ?
3. Can I file without medical ?
Please guide ?

Hi Everyone,
My AP is valid until JUNE 27 2011, (Here is the line from the I-512L, Presentation of the Original Document prior to June 27 2011 allows a customs and border protection inspector at a port-of-entry to parole the named bearer) I'm travelling to India during May / June and will be entering LAX back on June25. Will this be an issue as my AP is expiring in next couple of days.
Experts please let me know your thoughts on my situation whether it is safe to travel and getting in back will not be of an issue.

Regarding your 1st issue...My lawyer advised me to attach the scan copy with 485, but definately have the originals in hand in case there is a RFE.
I don't want to take a chance, so Iam asking my parents to send it through 2nd day fedex as well. It will cost me maybe another Rs 2-3000, but what the hell..

I believe, USCIS website was updated on Sep 21st 2009.
My Priority date is Jun 2006 and applied in EB3 category.
I got an email on Sep 22nd 2009 from USCIS saying "Document mailed to applicant". When I see online status, it is "Document production or Oath Ceremony".

Is the Nebraska Service Center fast or is there any other center that is fast. I am filing 140 and 485 together so kindly advice. Also, I would be getting married in 5 months in India and my Wife would come with me after that. Can I include her after she comes here? Is there anything that I would be aware off. Please advice. I filed for 485 in July without EAD and AP document since my H1B is valid for another 2 years. In a month's time the most unfortunate thing happened. The company that sponsored my H1B/Green Card just got acquired. It is anticipated that as a result several people will get laid off including me. I have yet to recieve the reciept notice for 485. What happens when something like this happens 180 days before? What are my options if I were to get laid off?
1) Get H1B transfer to another company and hope that old employer won't revoke I-140.
2) Don't get H1B transfer, don't work at all, apply for EAD and AP and wait for the next 5 months to pass. Again hope that employer doesn't revoke I-140.
I have very good relations with employer and so far I have never needed to bend any rules, but don't know what the new people will be like.

My 485 receipt Date is July 5, 2007. Today i got a mail saying they have sent an RFE on my 485 App. It could be for Original Employment Letter as i sent a copy of the letter.
FYI my PD is Sep, 2006 EB2 India
This does mean that they are processing applications since processing date has jumped to 18/19 july 2007. But I think even if you furnish missing information to them, they will say everything is okay, but since currently PD is not current, they will just keep your application ASIDE. and continue processing other applications. They will really give us a GC - I DONT KNOW WHEN....I am seriously thing 2-3-4-5 years!

As far as Soft LUD is concerned, there should be one or two after finger printing. (Refer to http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18737 for EAD cases).
Your priority date is current.
I hope that they must have sent for Name Check long ago - this should not be blocking.
What about processing date (Aug 24, 2007 is receipt date)? There was memo from USCIS that it may take over 18 months for processing date to come around Aug 2007. Your I485 i.e. GC can be blocked by processing date.

Bob, I'm clueless on portrait photography, but they look very good to me! :)
As far as the games is concerned, I try to keep the shutter speed at 1/500 or maybe 1/400 if necessary, to freeze motion reasonably well. There's still movement visible on sticks and pucks, but that's fine IMO. The arenas I've been to so far (small local areans for lower divisions) generally have poor lighting so... I usually get f/2-f/2.8 and 1/500 or thereabouts, and I'm still underexposing slightly. Use larger apertures and too much is OOF, the DOF is too shallow as it is. I'd love to try hockey in better light.
EDIT: Forgot the lenses... most good ones seem to come from 300/2.8 (mostly from the seats as it's on the long side), 135/2 (best results so far) and 85/1.8. My 70-200/2.8 is a bit of a disappointment, it is nowhere near as good as the 135/2 when used wide open. I've also started playing around a bit with wide-angles, it can give you some unusual action shots as long as you have the nerve to remain by the boards when the players come storming by. :)

Thanks for your responses. The hospital staff told us it would take 60-90 days to get the SSN. I am stuck until that arrives because only then can I apply for the passport. Any way to get around it?
You don't need SSN to apply for a passport for a baby. PIO card takes about two weeks to process in SFO. I dont think there is any fast processing available for PIO.
