There are several of us who have advanced degrees and yet have been put under EB3. Now, a lot of them can move on to a more responsible role but held captive by the immigration situation.
Just a thought - if the STEM degree holders can be exempt, then it will take some weight off the entire system.

I know a lot of people using pre approved labor certs waiting for GC. What happens to them? I think this rule will affect only those who are trying to do Labor substitution in future.

I don't know why but we tend to be satisfied with lsmall benefits...

But i bet you ..you will find your self in the same situation of agony and endless waiting for the final Green card.

How do you suggest IV 'forum' improves the Signal-to-Noise ratio?

How do you know what I care about and not? I can give some famous examples of GC holders working for IV - Aman Kapoor founder member, Tamsen Mitchell (franklin) leader of South California chapter, and many more.
I may remain active if I feel the cause is worth spending my time, money and effort. Right now, a crowd of 25,000 tracking receipts and discussing mundane issues doesn't give me the confidence to say so. I have better things in life to fight for than a lost cause where the victims (most of them) wait for others to fight for them !

For example....if your GC gets approved tomorrow...I'll bet that you'll not care less about the forum.

ICICI is good at advertising false figures (with our money of course) and SBI is little delayed in updating their websites - does that solves the equation :)
SBI rate is 43.21 for $4001 but i'm sure that's not latest because the website is not updated hour by hour ( like ICICI/R2i/C2i at least do for AD) but I've seen honesty in SBI's dealings when they actually convert $ to Rs. Even if the website shows lower rates they converted my money with higher rates because the market rate was higher during conversion.
As per today $ conversion rate is ICICI offering 43.28 and SBI is offering 43.16,if you transffer more than $2000. So ICICI offering better rate.

What are you talking? which part of the world do you belong? Obama is the democratic candidat for 2008 Presidential Elections Its conformed.He is not still fighting and also he how can you justify that he is a weak person? do you know he was no where in the picture and no one expected he will won the nomination when the Democratic Primary was begun..now he is the democratic PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE..by now you should have undestand how powerful he is.
Weak or strong, either he (or Sen. McCain) will be president, and not king. They may have a strong influence in the Congress, but they can't boss it around. Specially since a minority in congress (be it Democrat or Republican) has its own way of stalling bills they don't like. I hope next president brings sanity back to the Washington.

Long as you are married before your 485 is approved you should be ok. What is your PD and category?
One hint they give you is when they send the fingerprinting (FP) notice. You can't be approved without that. And after FP it takes any where from 3 - 6 months.
I am getting married in Jan 2008. can i go ahead and apply now? How to include the wife? will that be a problem.
