How about a vehicle, computer case, or a building.

My simplistic model breaks down with this data.
With these numbers, the ROW backlog for 2002 should have cleared by now, but it hasn't. The Indian backlog should clear in a few years.
I guess, there is a reason why people don't model these things. The results are no better than pulling things outta thin air if there isn't sufficient data.......
Maybe USCIS needs computers more than we need visa numbers......
If there are any estimates on the number of applicants in the different years, we could try some math on it.....I had assumed 160K applicants for ROW in 2002, and from the numbers that andy provided, that backlog should have cleared in 2004.
Unless we are missing something really really big, things should start moving forward in a year or two. (Especially after USCIS learns about the amazing new invention called a 'computer')
As my lawyer says, in two to ten years, the PDs will be current.....

i hope that country caps are removed
i also hope it's not at your expense :-)
i don't see why people think these things are mutually exclusive
we all want the best to happen- for ourselves- and as much as we can help it
for everyone else too!!
great work on putting the data together, hopefully we can develop some concise sound bites to present to affected people and to lawmakers.
i do suggest that the final summary should show 3 examples
China EB2 and EB3
India EB2 and EB3
ROW EB3
this way everyone affected sees something about themselves

Does anyone have the list of latest set documents required to file for 485.... can you plzzzz email/post it here... thanks
can it be done without the help of an attorney...????
Check out the USCIS site: USCIS - Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3faf2c1a6855d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D)
You can download the form as well as the instruction to fill out the firm.
As for filing it on your own - depends on how confident you are in your abilities to follow the instructions!!!!!!!!! Just kidding... Try filling the form on a copy.........

You pay your taxes, abide by the law, follow all rules - And yet you are discriminated against with per country caps and with most immigrant visas going to the unlimited family members joining former illegal aliens in the U.S.

Question 18 should be helpful to your situation with RD.

Thanks, then i do not know what to make out of what is in my status "we received the case in Oct at NSC" though it was applied in Aug at TSC.
I do hope that what is in this document is true.

It is the system which needs to be modified. I think the priority date should be decided based on one's first port of entry date. That will help eb-2 candidates a lot as most of us loose a minimum of 3 years(2 years in grad school and 1 on OPT).

Your are not wanted here and no one likes you. You are an anti-social element and should be banned now.
dont "warn" me..........you think i give a damn about your "warning"??
the right to speak is MINE. all YOU can do from your high horse is ban me from the forum.
i really dont care, i still think interfilers and substituters should get what they derserve. every single bit of it. may they really, truly, go to hell, and stay there indefinitely.
and NO, dont preach to me about trying to "fix" the system. the agenda here is mostly EB3, and mostly Indian, at best. the multitudes of diploma holders get pissed when i call them out for what they are...........why are THEY so sensitive and ashamed???
i have a RIGHT to be in the proper EB queue, which i EARNED, and did not employ cheap desi-employer tricks and other games to get into........if that does not answer your doubts my friend, then as i said earlier, ban me..........i dont really care either way.
i dont advertise what i have done or can do for IV. somehow, that is a little demeaning. sort of like going to a temple and offering some money and then coming out and proclaiming to one and all how generous a give you are....

USCIS has released a press release July 23, 2007. Check QUESTION 13
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/EBFAQ1.pdf
Yes, but it does not mention EVL. If USCIS mentions the EVL in another press release, that would be the ideal scenario, but probably won't happen.

I voted thirdworldman. I'm kind of a sucker for the curved thing, though the train would have to be broken into soo many segments for it to actually corner a corner like that, we'll just assume it'd work :beam:

Yes - USPS express mail is next day. But you may not find a open Post office to post the Mail on SUNDAY.
I'm not sure if you drop it in a Express Mail drop box tomorrow if they will pro-actively pick up and deliver by Monday - Probably No.
USPS express mail is a 365 day service so far as "Delivery" is concerned but not from a "Pick up" standpoint probably
If FedEx doen't help try USPS, they also have overnight delivery.
If you handover the document on Sunday evening before 5.00 PM, by Monday noon it will be delivered.

My guess
Best case : 12 months
Worst care : 4 years
sachug22,
I agree with your initial post on this thread. In all likelihood, we will end up with ~ 50k - 55k, EB3s issued this fiscal.
Last year they issued ~ 6200 EB2-IN, and dates progressed one-year.
Considering the EB1 spillover plus the FB spillover, we will have ~ 15k - 20k available for EB2 In/CH for use in Aug/Sep08. If the USCIS does its job well, then that should be enough to propel EB2-IN dates forward by two-years April-04.
I believe a sizeable number of applicants with PD before Jun-06 will get their GCs approved before Sep-30-2008.
I know my case is stuck in background checks, hopefully it is past 180 days - i have no way of knowing.
I will be excessively anxious (like most others here) till Aug 1st week, if there is a deluge of approvals - good i'll probably get more anxious.
If there is only a trickle, i'll forget the whole Aug VB and go back to my plan-A (i.e. forget the GC and get on with living).

Cultural barriers are not so insurmountable in the US as those in the EU.
Even with the Blue Card can one work towards the naturalization process in order to become a citizen? In US you can surely do that after 5-6 years I guess.
US gives citizenship by birth to our children if they are born on US soil, EU countries do not do that. Switzerland goes to the extent of invloving local communities before deciding an applicant's request. Please refer to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6992670.stm
However we can surely make lawmakers aware of the existing competition and argue to reform the EB immigration system.

No problem. I just wanted to encourage everyone with a strong feeling on H1 increase to post on the CNN site.
I'm sorry if I sounded like a hypocrite. My interpretation was not to participate in FSB debate for PR visas as the debate was concentrated on H1-B visas.
I support H1-B's and please continue in the debate for H1-B's.
