The bill states failing to show evidence of your immigrant status, is a misdemeanor and will result an arrest. So this is going to trouble a lot legal residents to prove they are legal and there will be a lot of litigation as a result of this.
See how Mr. Blog feed has omitted the fact that this law is against "unauthorized alien". To a casual observer it would appear that IV supports such endeavors (promoting illegal immigration).

I do not know how feasible this is, but if in your employment letter, there is a description of responsibilities, and additionally a statement like: "The job being offered to XXX falls under O-NET classification 15-1031," then you are completely covered, because the employer is positing that the job being offered to you falls under that classification. Again, don't emphasize technologies etc., just the job description and mainly classification.
The AC21 language is very clear: "same or similar occupational classification"
It does not say job responsibilities or job title. These are interpretations of that term and used to DETERMINE the occupational classification. So as long as the occupational classification matches or is similar, you should be fine.
Also, the O-NET classification is from SOC which stands for "standard OCCUPATIONAL CLASSIFICATION." It can't get any clearer than that :-)
As always, my cautionary statement: I am not a lawyer, just applying common sense interpretation to the terms.

I havnt received my AP applied Jun 29 2007.Nebraska.
Whenever we call them they have a standard answer 30 days,then 60 days.
Latest 30 days.
Its the same for GC too.
They are least bothered.CHC must have been everything.Is every immigrant genious,scientists,doctors,engineers like they have argued.They cannot build wall with only so called expected genious.
Discrimination to the core.
Not even next summer.

I don't care about LS. Almost all cases I know are fraud. Sometimes 2 guys got GCs on same labor(since they were not asking Original LC). Thank god USCIS banned LS.

If you had the opportunity of getting a Substitute labor and potentially get your GC sooner rather than later, wouldn't you grab it with both hands. It is the GC Freedom.
I am also thankful that DOL and USCIS have banned Labor Substitutions but please give those who have used them a break. They are also in the same boat as you and me (people with regular labor). Chasing the American Dream. No offense intended.:o

if your i-485 comes up for adjudication and you have file ac21 and your i-140 is pending as well, then the portability is only valid if i-140 is approved. of course after that to make sure that the portability is valid they will apply the "similar job" criteria.
You are interpreting as: It must be approved when in reality it means that It should have been already approved in order to make a decision on portability. They can not be forced to approve your I-140 just because you are changing jobs.

Dear friends, why do you seek to start bashing your country at the first opportunity you get. THere are people in the Indian Govt who are negotiating on your behalf to make sur you get your money back.
THen on the question of paying bribes to get money out of PPF - something is better than nothing. Why complain. If it is so bad, go back and fight to fix the system, otherwise stop maoning. India is the only country that will welcome you if you are kicked out of here. I remember i used to pay 50 INR per ticket for a railway seat, now i go online and book a ticket. Things change they take time and patience.
Only those people who have NEVER bribed anyone to get stuff done illegally, or out of turn should speak. And i know there is no one, since you are in US and came on a passport and we all know how passports are obtained.
You left india, want to stay away, so leave it alone. When you are kicked out of everywhere, the doors will still be open, just keep some cash for the gatekeeper.
Lets discuss whether this swap will be possible or not, or what the loopholes are.
