My Company is asking me to sign a new 2 year contract with them to get employment verification letter required for I-485. Is this legal?
It depends on the "Employment Agreement" and the state laws where your employer is based. Many times such agreement mention "damage amount" if the person leave before the expiry of such term.
IT may be good idea to consult a good lawyer.

Travel thru UK on advance parole. Did anyone travel thru UK on advance parole. Do you know if you can travel thru UK on advance parole(with UK TRANSIT OR VISIT VISA). Do you need to have USA VISA STAMP.

True. But USCIS doesn't care anymore because I-140 is already approved. The ability to pay is for I-140, not for AOS. There is no point for USCIS to get the ability to pay for AC21 cases because the adjudication is based on the approved I-140. If you will read the USCIS guidelines on this, it explains the reasons why.

For a home in a nice neighborhood, you will only get a condo for that price in CA. Homes will be in bad areas like S. San Jose, Oakland, Los Angeles - Crenshaw, Inglewood, Long Beach. IN Central Valley, like Fresno, Modesto you might get a good home for that $$ range.

What do the people in the following circumstance do:
1) Family emergency and they have to travel to India? Is there any way to expedite the advance parole??
2) They get married say in October and return with spouse then? IF they file for I-485 now, isnt the spouse left out unless she/he can come in H1B or F-1 herself?

If that is a problem...you know...thousands more filing 485 and swamping/drowning/choking/killing CIS, then maybe, in that case, we should not be pushing for SKIL bill also. Correct?

And they swamp them even more since they also have to process them not just accept those 485 petitions, since SKIL increase numbers and makes those dates current?
So maybe we should not push for SKIL bill also.
And let me take that a little further. Maybe we should not ask for any numbers increase, we really should be thinking about USCIS and not just ourselves. How selfish of us to think about ourselves? Its always Me me me.
Why dont we every stop and think about the poor USCIS worker who has to work 40 hours a week just so that people like us can get our stupid little H1s and EADs renewed ?

I'm a new member on this forum and my case got transferred to MOUNT LAUREL, NJ office.
History:
My 485 was filed in NSC in July'2007.
I have 2 I-140 petitions, and dates are current(Eb2 India).
Code 3 FP done in Dec'2007 and Name check and FBI background checks cleared.
Case got transferred from NSC to local office in April'2009
After about 8 days of transfer to the local office I received Code 1 Finger print notices.
What does that mean? Any one had similar experiences?

Mine reached USCIS on July-3rd around 6:00am. All 6 (2x485, 2xAP, 2xEAD) checks were cached today.

No...if your current EAD expires and the new one hasn't arrived, you must stop working. it does not matter if you've applied for renewal and its pending. EAD does not work like H1B extension, where a 240 day period of automatic eligibility to continue working is available upon filing extension.
Is it possible to keep working Even u don't have EAD renewed ,but u have Reciept notice with u.. I mean eventually approval will come.

What I am saying his employer process pay roll for $5800, he gets in hand after tax deduction.
You guys should understand one thing if your base salary is $1000/k, company should process $8333/pm on a pay roll then pay roll will decide about tax withholdings. There is no way company can show gimmicks and run pay roll for less. I have been working for the past 8 years, all the time companies divided annual salary by biweekly and deposited rest will be taken care by pay roll processing.
Bottom line pay slip should show 8333 not even single penny less for 100k it means you are employer is cheating you.
Try to sort it out with the employer. If employer does not explain, you can change employers, gettiing jobs is not difficult these days. If you think employer has cheated you on wages, contact DOL. But if the wage he mentioned on h1b petition and offer letter is what he is paying to you right now, but he orally agreed to pay you what you think he is paying, then he has conned you. Just be smart and move on, as the employer does not have ethics and "tells lies" to consultants on their salaries, he will face problems in future.

My online I-140 status shows the case cannot be found. The receipt date for my i-140 is current. What should I do? Anybody seen this issue.

I though such contracts are illegal in US?....It is employment at will.....that means they can kick you out anytime or you can leave anytime....maybe someone can clarify

All depends the terms and wordings of the "Employment agreement". For example, if one is sent for 2 weeks training in, say, .Net 2.0 Technology and its cost is $8000, then agreement could have clause for paying back $8000 to employer if left employment within one year.
There are, of course, other things involved and it is a complex subject. In short, Employment Agreement given enough ammunitions for employer to file at least a civil suit against employee.
Please consult a good lawyer before signing any such contract.

Actually lost, that's not a basic form, i do it all the time!! :P
