Hello Gurus,
I am on H1B with a NJ consulting company since 10/2004.
I am working with a client in Los Angeles, CA.
My H1b Visa expired in 05/2010 and I just got my 3-year extention.
In my petition I gave details of current client.
Today an Agent came from USCIS for an onsite(client-side) visit and verification.
The agent asked me various question mostly related to my petition
I was told my name was picked up randomly.
It is part of USCIS Site visit and verification Program
Anyone has a similar experience?

Call National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283
Press 1 for English
Press 2 for bypassing introduction
Press 2 for checking status etc.
Press 6 for checking status etc.
Press 1 for having receipt number
Now enter your receipt number:
press 1 to confirm receipt number
Now listen to the case update info, somewhere in the middle of blah-blah
press 3 to report a problem with your case
press 4 for filed several related applications and have received the information on some but not all
(now if you listen a male voice prompting you to hold the call that means the call is going to IOs desk, if it says no IO is available, it will redirect it to NSC, you can hang up and try the next morning)

In september my dates became current and my GC and my spouse GC has been approved . However my lawyer recieved interview notices for me and my wife. What should be the next step. Ignore the notices as we recieved the Green card or do we need to attend the interview.
My advice "do not ignore it". Best is to take an infopass and get it resolved. Else attend the interview. Take a local lawyer if you need and tell the officer that you already have a GC. It is better to personally close this issue than reklessly abandon it hoping that it will close by itself. It can create more mess than you can handle.

i am switching employers and i have about 10k in my 401k with current employer. my next employer does not have the option to start 401k until after one year of service.i am looking for options to rollover my 401k to a IRA in a company. does anyone have any recommendations?thanks in advance

HI,
I am in my 7th yr extension of H1B, last time I got the stamping in Ottawa in 2005. I cam e into US on F1 and never got H1B stamping in India. Am I eligible for H1B stamping in Canada for my 8th year or should I go to India to get the stamping done.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Yes you can apply for EAD(I-765)/AP(I-131) anytime during 485 pending and send the notice/fedex tracking as a proof for it if required.

Hi,
Company B has applied for I-140 and 485 because you will work with them for a min of 6 to 12 months after getting GC.
So its not required for you to join them if they have already submitted I-140 and 485. You can say that you will join them after getting GC.
And if the 485 takes more than 180 days for the approval from the receipt date you can apply the AC21 portability rule and submit a new employment offer from anycompany and you can join that company.(Provided I-140 is approved and if I-140 is pending for more than 180 days then you can port the I-140 priority date by restarting the whole GC process)
Above is the knowledge I got from IV and google.
So u dont need to worry and join the company B, but keep them happy since they have to respond to all RFE till I-140 is approved.

It may not be reliable source, By the way did u look at the Sep Visa Appointment at Mumbai Consulate, There is not a Single Employment based persons for the interview which may suggest that Visa numbers are infact over.

It wouldn't hurt your GC process or your status even if your employer revokes your approved I-140. If you are so worried then check this info from USCIS - http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/I140_AC21_8403.pdf
