It may be true that the representatives are looking forward to the elections. But we should make an effort to make them (and maybe the folks who contest against them) knowledgeable about issues faced by Skilled "backlogged" people, in the immigration circus.

I would love to, as it will help IV community also, but unfortunately it is not very easy in a company to request change of lawyer when the lawyer is good one. I see from many comments here that the Chugh Firm is a good one. And the employer also feels the same. So what grounds can I request them change their processes which they are following for nearly 200 employees. It will be hard. Cant even ask..

The worst lawyer ever possible: never replied to email, never responded to phone and never communicated: what she was doing. She filed my case in EB3 without consulting me or my knowledge even (I had two Masters and international research) and I came to know about it many years later when I thought I could be getting green card any day and guess what i came to know that not from the lawyer but from USCIS.

hey all i can't find where to post a new thread so hopefully I can hijack this quick.
I called the USCIS number for info but can't speak to an operator.
My wife is planning on traveling to hawaii in december. She will have her drivers license by then. She has her I-485, I-130, I-765 and some other M109109 (whatever that is).
she wants to know if its ok for her to travel to hawaii (from florida). it's in the united states so i can't imagine there being an issue. she will be traveling to ohio later that month and to me its the same thing. I'm just trying to get the opinion from someone who would know for sure.

Hawaii is an outlying US state. Going to Hawaii should be no different than flying between two cities within continental US.

This is because, you dont need to file two I-129s. Don't worry, USCIS hope fully will give you one year+ 4 days extension... provided you have client letter for such.
BTW, last year, I specifically asked my attorney, if we need to file two h1s - one for recapture and another one for 7th year extension. And she told me only one is enough...

Hi guys,
please help me out. My H1 will expire May 09 (i could claim about 3-4 months outside of india for h1 extension)
My question is if i start my LCA < 365 days from H1b expiry date and get it approved and subsequently file for 1-140 and say 1-140 is not approved, will i get H1 7th year extension?

You don't need SSN to apply for a passport for a baby.
Where did you hear that from? The passport application form has a field for the SSN and I dont think its optional.
We had our baby last month but SSN in IL takes 12 weeks and they refused to give it over the phone. I dont think I have much of a choice but to wait it out till I get the SSN to be able to plan any trip to India to see the grandparents.
If you have any link that states that SSN is optional for passport, please let me know.

He is anti illegal immigration and recently made comments about illegals which created a furore (albeit among illegals and pro-amnesty groups, but they were heard). He might want to align with us to show he is pro-immigration.
Come on members, let's work out a campaign to gain his attention. He wants to be a champion, so let's give him a cause.

The client can edit any and all content on the site, as well as add new sections as needed. The content is stored in a mySQL database. It also utilizes the PHP GD Library in order to edit user uploaded images on the fly, including making dynamic thumbnails of photo gallery images. well .. my priority date is July 2002 .. nd there are 14k eb3 visas wordwide .. until this date.

(a) I am currently in L1 and have a priority date of May 2004 and I am in EB3 category
(b) I have an approved I-140
(c) My 485 has not been filed yet
(d) I just got my H1 approved and it would be effective from Oct 1 2008
So, if I change my current job from Employer A to Employer B and if Employer B agrees to take over my Green Card Process,
1) Should I re-file my I-140? (I presume the answer is Yes, but don't want to be a smart a**, wanted to get it clarified to the maximum extent possible)
2) Will my current Priority Date be carried over? That is, can I re-file my I-140 with my new Employer B with the same priority date of May 2004?
3) If I can move from Employer A to Employer B and file my new I-140, should this be done asap and before Employer A revokes my current approved I-140?
4) How much time does it take when I file I-140 with premium processing? (I can probably find this from USCIS website, but wanted to know real-time experiences)
5) Within how many days of joining my new Employer B should I file my new I-140?
6) I understand that the Employer A can revoke my I-140 and use my approved labor for any other viable applicant, but I also know that the Labor Substitution concept ceased to exist from July 2007. What is the benefit for my Employer A to revoke the I-140?
7) Last, but not the least - Should I file for a new labor where I will get a new Priority date and go back to that (god forsaken) square 1?

I had opened a Service Request with USCIS and they responded that its possible that they are probably busy and I should be getting a notice soon. But I just want to check if there are anybody else out there who filed in July and are still waiting for their FP notices.
Please note that I live in Dallas,TX and my case is with TSC.
