Nebraska Service Center mailed I-131 approval notices for me and my wife on 28th Oct. But we never received them. Its been a month now. So, I called USCIS today morning and they say I need to reapply for I-131 for my whole family because some one else might have picked it up.
I called up post office. They say they have no mails on hold.
Is reapplying the only way out?

Hello All,
I am travelling in June to India, during that trip I have to stamp my H1B visa at Mumbai or Delhi. Does any one has a recent experience at Mumbai consulate about visa interview? Does anyone knows current acceptance percentage at Mumbai or delhi consulate? Is it safer to travel in the economic crisis?
At the same time I have heard some rumors regarding rejection at Port of Entry is that true. Anyone from this group has faced such situation?

I live in NJ and my application was recieved on July 2nd. would that be Nebraska or Texas SC?
NJ comes under TSC but direct filing took effect only from July 30th. Till then the 485 was supposed to be sent to the center where 140 is filed or to NSC ( if no 140 filed). Even if it was sent to the wrong center USCIS will not reject the application in this timeframe. It will be internally transferred to the the correct service center.

I think it is not the company but the service provider's gateway address. This usually happens in Iselin, Edison - NJ areas where there is a huge concentration of immigrants. USCIS is probably tracking and blocking the IPs.

You don't have to leave the country if your change of status to H1 is approved with a new I-94 attached to it. However, if they approve COS without providing new I-94 then you need to immediately leave the country and re-enter with a new visa stamp.

The text is printed on your SSN card based on your visa status at the time of application. EAD is also a temporary status, this also requires a renewal. Hence, you would not be able to "remove" the text from your SSN card until your receive the GC.

Just to be contrarian, I think the recent H1-B and L-1 fee increase is an opportunity. Instead of playing a victim of legislative abuse, we should come out batting with an offense. We should get businesses to lobby for us. We should get congress people educated about the unfairness. We should not say the fee is wrong, because these are after all elected officials and they will not jeopardize their election prospects by going against this measure. So we should say ok take this fee but then provide us with administrative fixes that we want.

Have you filed your 485 during july fiasco, if yes then you have 180 days + after your 485 filed and you can move/port to any other employer

The reason for these questions is that I am planning to change the company that I am working with.

I've been trying to get a job offer from Canada for the past one year as my occupation is not on the list of occupations that have shortage. I'm a market research analyst and work online with a UK company for almost 3 years. I would love to move to Canada and have a real job and family but am at a stage where I do not know what else to do as the companies want you to be present in Canada and Canadian govt asks for a job offer to get a visa?
Very confused here. If someone got an arranged offer from Canada could you please guide on how much work experience you had and how you got an offer?

My Husband�s priority date is Oct 2003 (EB3). My Employer is willing to start for GC in EB2. Can We use my husband�s EB3 Oct 2003 priority date ?
