Option 1: you can get someone to take your photograph with a digital camera and then use Passport photos for free - ePassportPhoto.com (http://www.epassportphoto.com) to make sure that it is cropped to size and meets the size requirements. You will need to ensure that the picture is taken correctly though (without shadows, against a plain light background, etc.). You can get more details about the photo requirements from:
Guidelines for Producing High Quality Photographs for U.S. Travel Documents (http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/guide_2081.html)
Option 2: You can also go to any place like Costco or Walgreens and have them take your picture and upload the scanned version of the picture.
I used Option 1 and it worked just fine.

While I laugh at that guy. I would like to remind you that we are living in a republic and not in a democracy.
Any one can be a self hurting fool using his/her "Individuals God-given, unalienable rights". While in a democracy individuals worry about majority rule and popular thought.
I dont understand why Obama (a former senior lecturer in constitutional law ) refers to this country as democracy.
HELLO Chicago. If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer... "
While the founders were fearful of democracy ( the mob rule ).
Both India and USA are republics not democracies.

As the house will go into a recess after around a month, is anyone seeing a possibility for a congressional action regarding the three pending immigration bills in the house? A realistic possibility?
As per the calendar, we have time till August 4 and between September 7 & September 26, to get something done in Congress. It might be really difficult to get something done in September as that short time may be used by the congress for many high priority items.
Recess:
August 4 to September 7: House August Recess
August 9 to September 7: Senate August Recess
September 26: House Target Adjournment Date
I am wondering, what else I could do to push our bills to fruition.

In November 2010, USCIS transferred approximately 36,000 Immediate
Relative petitions fromour California Service Center to our Texas
Service Center. We anticipated that this redistributionof work would
result in more timely adjudication of these petitions. Due to a number
ofunforeseen circumstances at our Texas Service Center, many of these
cases have not beenprocessed and are beyond our estimated processing
times. We sincerely regret any inconveniencethis may have caused you
and we are making every effort to remedy this situation as soon as
possible.
On Feb. 7, 2011, we implemented a rapid response plan to expedite the
adjudication of thesepetitions. We have transferred a large number of
these Immediate Relative petitions back to ourCalifornia Service
Center to take advantage of resources currently available to
immediatelyprocess these cases. Petitioners will see an action such
as an approval, denial or a Request forEvidence (RFE) on their case
from our California or Texas Service Centers by the end ofFebruary.
Additionally, we have briefed the Department of State’s National Visa
Center aboutthese cases.
We encourage you to monitor the progress of your case by accessing My
Case Status online. Ifyou do not see any action on your case, such as
an approval, denial or an RFE, by March 1, 2011you may contact USCIS
at: I-130Inquiries.Tsc@dhs.gov
We remain committed to the prompt resolution of all pending cases and
will provide updates onour progress in the coming weeks.

Pappu /administrators,
Please check this link...Does anyone know about the following. Is this useful to us in anyway?
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=241405
This is the content of the above link from immigrationportal.
I have been speaking with the producers of the Trevor McDonlad show regarding immigration visa scams and also the problems we face with renewals, retrogression and children also still aging out despite the CSPA (Child status protection act) and especially what happens if the petitioner dies as in my case. They are looking for people who's American dream has turned into a nightmare and sure there must be thousands of us
They are flying from the UK and a group of expats are meeting with the producers on 21st Feb 07 in the Davenport area in Florida which is near Disney
No filiming will take place on wednesday but filming will be on Friday to be confirmed. A famous Newscaster Nick Owen is flying to Florida to take part in the filming
If anyone would like to attend and share their heartfelt experiences please send me a pm with your contact details
Should you be unable to attend then please call or e-mail the assistant producer as below

I have current passport with valid I94, my lawyer asks for copy of all expired passport which has visas on it. But I ccannot find the expired passport, can I still file the I485. I appreciate your help.
Better give them both there is no harm, because they are gonna check the validity period on them.
But u can ask a attroney, that was my opinion.

Yes, unfortunately that is true. You can not use the experience that you gained with the current sponsoring emplloyer for your permanent residency application.
Hi, guys,
I'm having a little trouble with counting the years of experience for my EB2 petition. My attorney said I can only count the number of years I worked before joining the current sponsoring company!! The situation is, I jointed this company in Jan 2004. But my petition (Labor) appliction only started at the end of 2006. My attorney says that the three years of working experience (04, 05 & 06) can not be counted!
Is he correct on this?
thanks.

I got my Finger Printing notice today and I was comparing it with the 485 receipt. The 485 receipt had A# as A9xxxxxxx ( A with 8 digits) as the receipt number while the FP notice had A09xxxxxxx as the number.
The FP notice has a "0" after the "A" and the 485 notice does not have that 0. All the digits are the same but for the 0. Any one has it similar. do i need to worry abt it? any suggestions? You think i need to get it corrected?

485 received July 27, 07
485 Receipt date - Aug 27, 07
FP issued - Sep 18, 07

My friend's on her 6th year H1B and it will expire on Sept 10, 2010. A PERM labor was filed and the Labor went into an audit, responses were sent immediately.
If she transfer her H1B to new company.
1. Can she ask for 1 year extension based on her pending labor ? Does she need to wait till the labor gets approved ?
2. Can she use Premium Processing for H1 transfer?

Hmmmmm....
How about this...
After you applied your 485 and work for the same company for 180 days, also you got your EAD. .....
Can someone change the employer afterwords (after 180 days) without worrying about H1B visa renewal/transfer?
If so what are the requirements....common guru's give us some hopes....
Thanks,
MS

I called the embassy and the staff member told me that I would have to go to the nearby DHL office in LIMA and drop all the documents. And then the embassy would get back wihin 4-10 business days.
This is really dicey for me since the Christams holidays could push this ahead.
So no go.

as long as your gc is pending, you can get 1 year extension. After 140 approval and 485 still pending you can get 3 year extension. OR you can apply for EAD to continue in status.

Hello Folks
I am in NJ and my current H1b expires on Nov 2008. My DL expires on Set 2008 . I was under impression that I need atleast 6 months or more valid visa to get licence.
Company didnot agree to file premium process for H1b. They are saying I have plenty of time and they will apply in Aug . I and we know that now a days it takes more than 3-4 months to get visa.
Is there a way I can get temporary lic in Nj. lawer was saying I can request 3 month temp lic beased on Notice received from CIS. Is that true ? does any one gone through same in NJ ?
thanks

Can we go after State dept to have them make an administrative fix to publish 2 sets of Visa dates, one for Visa posts and one for USCIS. CIS Dates to reflect their processing length and allow for an early AOS application..
Just thought.. Suggestions are welcome.
Visa Bulletin for AOS and CP are two different HTML pages already :D. Your idea will not fly. BTW, Update your IV tracker

Hello,
Is PERM filed online only or it can be filed by snail mail as well ?
If is filed online, does the attorney get the receipt number immediately ?
If it is filed by snail mail, how long does it take for the attorney to get the receipt number ?
Your response is greatly appreciated.
