Hi, I am a U.S. Citizen, and my husband is not. I would like to apply for unemployment benefits, but I am worried that it may affect his immigration process. We will soon apply for his green card with the help of a cosponsor. I wanted to make sure that he would not be affected at all by me claiming unemployment benefits. I figure that it wouldn't affect him because of the fact that we will be using a cosponsor, but I didn't want to risk it.

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.
Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?

Hi,
Background filed H1 extension on Jan 2009 got approved Mar 2009, Got Approved I129 , Got the stamping H1B done in India. Online I129 status was still pending - Ignored that since I got the physical approval notice.
Feb 2009 changed Employer and started working on EAD, on June 3 the online status for I129 has been updated to Denied.
I am checking with my former employer to see if they withdrew my H1 (They typically don't withdraw H1).
I have not filed AC21 with my new employer.
Questions :
1. I have heard of online status still being in pending status even though its been approved. Have anyone heard of its getting denied ?. What are the implications ?.
2. There was a soft touch on my 485 on April 28. and i have not filed for AC21. Should i file AC21 ?

We are going to India on Vacation in Aug 2008. I am on H1B visa and my daughter (3 yrs) is on H4 (My dependent). My wife came to US as my dependent on H4 visa. But now she is on L1B visa.
Q1: Can I add my wife as a co-applicant while booking the appointment online even though she is not my dependant )so that we can all appear for the interview at the same day and time)? I didn't find any guidelines related to this anywhere.
Q2: We are looking for an appointment on Sep first week. Will the slots for Sept available by Aug 1st week? How many days before I can book the appointment?

I checked online in my bank and my uscis checks have passed for i-485,i-131,i-765. On the back of the checks, i found receipt numbers, I correctly took all receipt numbers and i entered them to my profile on uscis.gov website to track the processing, & !Surprise! i saw two receipt numbers referring to I-131and one to i-765 whereas none for i-485, Ideally, out of 3 receipt numbers, it should be one for each of i-485,i-131 & i-765??????? Don't know what to do? Has any one heard anything like that???????????????
