My Lawyer sent a letter explaining to port from EB3 to EB2. He attached both the copies of the approved I-140s. btw. my new approved I-140 has the priority date of EB3. Lawyer request to port the PD from EB3 to EB2 at the time of I-140 application.
He also mentioned the A# no.s in the Cover Letter.
Also my Approved I-140 has the A# printed in the beneficiary column.

Any update on your I-485 application? I am in the same boat too, my attorney mailed our applications to Nebraska, nothing received so far. I did call the USCIS with the given # below, but they are asking me to wait another 10 more days, and they said they cannot submit Service request. -Thanks!

Yes it is possible, since until I find a job that I really like it will take some time, problably I can even negotiate to start after the 181th day.
Also, what would be the process? Does the new employer needs to notify INS that I am changing jobs? Os this can be done without advising anybody but the former employer?

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.

Hello,Our organization is limited to issues with employment based immigration. your friends case seems like a Family based Case and we do not have the right people to help you with your friends situation.
IV'ans - Please refrain from any suggestions towards this
though I can understand the advice ..I don't understand the reasoning ..an immigrant is an immigrant whether it is family or employment ..I would think that IV should try to increase its reach and not become an exclusive club...

Tennesseans, I have moved into Nashville suburbs from Detroit. I have the experience of leading MI chapter for sometime (through the critical juncture of MI DL denying DLs to temporary residents).
I can definitely organize folks from around Nashville. I can also help guys from Knoxville, Memphis etc. form local chapters there if there is any interest in being active part of the IV movement.

I read dailykos.com, a liberal blog site, often. Recently, there has been a spate of postings there that are anti H-1B and anti high tech immigration. One example, from today, is: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/3/28/82450/4208. I have been posting comments as cacophonix.
dailykos.com is the most powerful and most popular liberal blog. Opinion that gets set there is influential with Democratic legislators. There is significant support there for high-tech immigration, but I think the tide could easily turn.
I need help from fellow IVers in refuting such ridiculous diaries as the one above. Please register and follow developments there, and please post responses when these issues come up.
I can't stress this enough: dailykos has a strict trolling/abuse policy. If you lose your cool and start abusing, you will get banned in a flash. So please be courteous.

On a separate note Logiclife response was spot on and I hope IV will follow in the footsteps of dailykos in dealing with the nonsense mongers.
I will take this opportunity to bring some anti-h1 rhetoric and h1 bashing that happens in our very own IV site!!!!!!!. I don’t want to name the individual who specializes in h1 bashing, so as not to make it a personal attack on that individual. A few days ago I posted a message on one of the threads in IV saying day by day reading some responses on h1 bashing makes me feel like I am on an anti-immigrant website rather than a website fighting for legal eb immigrants.
It feels sad and disheartening to see some members attacking h1 when they themselves are on h1. By attacking h1 they are attacking the very movement and people that IV is trying to help. Sure there are some abuses on h1 but lets not attack h1 like anti immigrants. Let’s fight the people outside who attack h1 and this community but let’s also clean our own house as well and not parrot the same anti h1 rhetoric in IV forum.

Do you have any source on this....I also had to amend my H1B last month. Its done without any issues..
My lawyer informed this. They instructed me not to travel while extension is pending. In case you have to travel, they suggest to do the extension after return back. I don't have any source for this information.
But it makes sense isn't it. Your extension is the extension of your last I94, however if you travelled after application, your extension have different i94 number and your recent i94 has different number. Just my opinion.
