Most of our jobs are replaceable in today's world. There is no shortage of "skilled workers". So, I for sure cannot take a long leave and wait for EAD to come by and re-join....because my job would be gone by then to some other "skilled" person. And its not easy to get another one quickly and without moving to a different place.
If you are replaceable then you have false claimed in your application that no American is available for your job. It defeats your H1B and Green card application. America invites H1Bs and gives them greencards not because they are paying taxes but because employers prove no american is available for our job and we have unique skills for job. 'Best and Brightest' is we are and USA needs us. Without us the economy will be more bad.

Hydboy, you make a good point. Does anyone know if this is how USCIS would do a Qtrly Spillover if they do it ? And do they have to make the EB2-I and EB2-C dates the same before they do a spill over like they do it for the yearly?

I am a nurse so we better flood the job market; don't you think so?
Now how does that makes me an anti-immigrant :mad: :mad: :mad: . I am ofcourse happy that so many of my friends here are going one step further in getting GC. Something is better than nothing. But, suddenly more than 1/2 mill people getting EAD will have some effect on the market. People(on H1B) loosing jobs after 3-4 months may find themselves in a difficult situation to get a job.
I am on H1B myself, how can I ever be an anti-immigrant ?:) :) I was expecting a little bit more permamnent solution and not a band-aid solution as somebody pointed out.

This is my first post. I worked my ass off to get a favorable
solution for retrogression during the budget bill. But as everyone knows it was defeated in the house reconcilation. I'm not being pessimistic but my gut feeling is that eventhough senate comes with something, the chances are slim that the house would agree to it. Sensenbrenners bill which house passed has no provisions for EB immigrants and backlogs. I'm pretty sure all of you are aware of Mr. Tancredo's fury against immigrants too.
Having said that I dont mean we have no way out. We have to work very very hard. We have to raise money and do some hard lobbying. But above all we have to get our employers to back this issue. With all of the above reasons I think it might be a very bad idea to guess we would have any favorable legislation in a shorter span of time. So we have to plan something for a longer period of time and execute it very diligantly, I guess.
I think Immigrationvoice is on the right path... Lets face it people!!!

Nowhere do the house representatives, except Tancredo and the likes, voiced their opposition to expanding EB immigration and providing some sort of relief for people caught in the backlog. I believe that the immigration provisions were dropped from S.1932 just because it was a wrong bill. The pork got chopped off and this pork was too easy to compromise as there were much more important issues to fight for, like drilling in Alaska and Medicare. This bill IS about immigration issues and is about border security issues as well. The fact that Frist's bill drops the very controversial guest worker program can be considered as both a good and a bad thing. It is good since the bill will sail more smoothly through the Senate and hopefully the conference. On the other hand it is bad since Senate representatives in the conference now will not have this guest worker program to trade and drop when House reps will demand to drop something off the bill. To my understanding the way the conferences work, they need to meet somewhere in the middle in between the versions of the bill and since we have the very minimalistic bill passed by the House it is the Senate which will need to compromise and drop provisions from its bill.
But taking the guest worker program off the bill is a good start I guess.

1. If you said you came here for your Master's and then found and job and applied for GC and been stuck there and now realized that this process stinks and decided to go back its fine by me, then you have no place here.
2. If you said you came here after your education on work visa and then applied for GC and stuck here and now realized that this process stinks and decided to go back its fine by me, then you have no place here
3. If you feel superior to all the folks who are in this forum then you have no place here.
4. If you think working for some company as a FT employee makes you qualified,oh btw i dont care if its a Fortune 10 company, been there done that, then you have no reason to be here. After all you think you are priveleged and superior to other folks in here.
5. Whats this superiority of being a FT employee over Contractor? I have been in this country now for over 10 yrs and worked as FT employee and Contractor. I dont see anything special in being a FT employee over a contractor. Just because you became a FT employee does not mean the company thinks you are the most perfect person to be their employee, it means you fit in their budget and they want to milk you services, so you become a 'one client wonder'. Contractor on the other hand gets paid more, gets to work on different projects . There is some uncertaininty due to job changes etc but if we are tracking it right its works well, in my last 4 yrs of contracting never been out of job.
6. What I have seen by the way you bash others in this thread shows that you somehow think you are superior to others(which is okay if you keep it to yourself). Pardon me for saying this, you are stepping over the line. Few days ago there was a thread where one guy got banned due to some stupid comments like you about fake degrees, fake resumes and that he was somehow more deserving of the GC than the others.
when you are in a public forum conduct yourself with dignity and try to help others and get help and not try to push your convoluted ideas and come across as a jerk. Staying in this country means many things to different people and does not constitute to not loving our home countries in anyway

What make you think BCOM or BBA or BSC is less than any other Bachelor degree EB3 own labor guys have. I am not here to defend or oppose LS. But before you talk about people who are not from same educational background as you, you should come out of bottom of Rock you have been living and breathe some fresh air. a) Republican base is not you and me, in case you haven't noticed they either cater to big biz or to a specific "kind" of Americans.
but that specific kind is now the majority, the senate seats they lost are because of the extreme views of the candidates
b) Tea Party is basically opposed to many things including free trade and immigration. Like any other politician they might change when they have power, if they don't then hope things don't get worse.

I am not trying to question your intent just trying to get some knowledge of facts. However your reasoning suggests that there are numbers available to overflow from EB2 World to EB2 India. many other states including mine has this requirement after 9/11. They require latest(within 1 month) employer letter saying what my name and address is and I work for them.
I have used it atleast 3 times before.......
When I went for renewal in MD, I was asked "Do you have $30?"....That plus about-to-be expired DL got me a new license valid for five years.
