i dont think they are hiding any numbers from EB3 ppl..thay are just following the rules book to the letter...
and since only one group of ppl are affected..they dont want to take the pain of fixing the immigration mess...4-5 years is a normal lag for ROW and non retrogressed nations...

information of Freedom of information act..specified..you can get ur dose of reality check if you want...
instead of that you can be more proactive and support IV campaings!
Is IV interested in doing a Freedom Of Information Act request to USCIS how and when they used up all visa numbers for EB3-India. That might show some information if they cooked the numbers if at all. We might get some more insight which monthly VISA bulletin does NOT give.

IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THIS ----
IV has to convince the government that this mess was created because close to 100000 visas were WASTED/UnUsed while BEC was busy(or not busy) sorting through the cases. If it is the mistake of a govt department, then the govt should fix it by recapturing these visas. They will act only when you make them look bad or file a suit against them. Why hasn't IV been able to push a simple argument like this????
If only it was that simple. There is too much of corporate vested interest
to allow the H1B servitude to go on. So much vested interests in the
Hispanic caucus not to allow "only" EB reform to pass without CIR.

IV has to priorotize before going to a lobbyist, with very very few contributions made, its very difficult to have everything bundled into a single request.
Its also unfair that L1 has to work for specific company but L1 spouces can work for any company any job, its so funny, when you think H1 has to work for specfic company and only for specfic job, but spouces can work for any compnay any job any salary without any labor department intervention
Immmigration awareness has increased a lot among US voters, when it comes to threat of their jobs being lost, and democratic senators are very much aware of it, hence CIR is no longer their priority.
I am not fighting but YES, my reason to join IV was to find justice to the H-4 not being able to work when L-1 spouses and Agjob spouses (I read this a year ago) could. Although no promises were made from IV, I was surpired today since nothing was ever said regarding no interest in the H-4 cause when many discussion were in place. Here people contribute for their own benefits, I was here for the H-4s, that is why I transcribed part of the conference calls too, so I was somehow a contributer to a cause that doesn't represnt my interests, but I know it represents the interests of the unmarried folks, or married to IT spouses folks.

Since we submitted the RFE response, there has been LUDs on daily basis since April 23.

You are saying new OBAMA govt. in many of your postings. Are you his election agent?. This forum is not for any party affiliations. Election is yet to start. Democratic party is not officially announced their candidate. All powerful President Bush is tried hard to help immigrants. Then how come a weak person who is still fighting for a ticket can take left and right congress and senete veterans.!!!!!!

In addtion to that "legals are first than illegals"- OBAMA. This itself is enough for clearing off all the backlogs.

But i bet you ..you will find your self in the same situation of agony and endless waiting for the final Green card.
I bet most of the people don't use your ead and AP as it puts you in a gray "Adjustment of status". They are good to have though. But you will see...how painful it is to decide to use them or not..
What i want to say is that being able to apply for EAD and AP is not the end of the battle..you will be stuck in a depressing situation waiting for the final green card.How do i know? .. I went through it...waiting for GC for the past 4 years.
I dont know its FBI or its just the USCIS incompetence but waiting in the final stage is horrible. Every time you travel you are scared...AP as for as my lawyer goes IT does not guarantee 100% entry in to the country.
After you apply for AP its only 1 year H1 increments.
What i am saying why dont we try for the overall improvement of the GC processing. Why dont we be firm about not wasting the GC numbers and recapturing the unused numbers.
We had a small revolt (peaceful way) and its successful.We dont want to stop there.

it may look like it that it has made our situation worse. But it was never good to start with. The visa number flow was going to EB3-ROW. Now it is going to EB2-I. That is good since if EB2-I becomes current the flow would come to EB3-I as we have older PD people than EB3-ROW.
Nevertheless, EB3-I was always the last link in the chain and still is. Nothing has worsened or bettered. If anything can be good for us, it is the 5882 bill. Another thing that can help is removal of country quota. With so many EB2 people getting their GC, we are going to need to really work towards getting contributions for lobbying since the people who get the GC cannot be expected to help IV anymore. We always were at the bottom and are still at the bottom. We need to unite and work with IV so that we call can get what we want.

If someone has experience with working on the software they use for this site, they should volunteer their services. Dont we have a single 'Skilled' immigrant who can help implement those suggestions. This would be a great non cash contribution.

Banking service is still way behind in comparison to US institutions. ICICI has to compete with nationalized banks in terms of competency and customer service so they surely do better but it is highly openly discriminatory depending on how valuable they think you are to them. Something that exists here but is very transparent. But I am sure ICICI has engaged in many questionable practices from marketing to collection, there have been some lawsuits as well against them.

Using H1B makes one safe. but how many years we want to do the safe job. If I-485 gets denied do u have enough patiences to file another green card. One thing is believe is "We are here to make money, most of us are in our thirties and we have short time remaining to reach our goals. I think we all have one year EAD. wait for 6 months then go on job hopping, learn whatever you can, get into whatever you want. Start a business, do something.... Anything you do will help you in future. Sitting with H1B in pocket may take 4 years cream of your life.
If you have the talent you can get great salaries anywhere in the world. Because of your talents and hard work you guys are here. World is not small.

We should not support what these IT consulting companies are doing with H1B programme just because we are on H1. These big companies are hoarding H1B visas so they can have an upperhand when dealing with the employees.
My own employer was trying to get as many H1s as possible without having ANY work for them. They sent us all a few emails asking us if we had any family or friends back home who want to come to US on H1. These guys make the H1 applicants pay for the application expenses, then just keep them there or get them here and keep them on bench and almost everybody here is familiar with what happens next.
Think from an American's point of view.. It is THEIR country, THEY make the laws that benefit their society and economy.. they have all the right to stand up against these practices by foreign based companies..

I guess I may fall victim of FBI background check. Even though, my priority date is not current yet but, it should be next couple of months based on recent EB-2 movement. We had our AOS interview last Nov and IO told us that she is going to initiate another Background check as original BC is more than two years old. In the end of April, I made an Infopass appointment out of curiosity because Background check use to be a major source of delay for many people. Service Rep on window told me that my Background check has not come back yet.. It was almost 5 months since it was ordered.. She did not elaborate on why was it pending.. She asked me couple of weird question which did not make any sense to me. I have schedule another appointment in next couple of days to find out where do I stand. I would like to keep my expectations in check as pending BC can delay it even when priority dates are current.
Can anyone on forum please provide some info on what can be done if Background check is pending over 180 days.. I can make a request to my Congressmen and ask for their help... Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..

I wonder if the figure will remain the same.
If it works the way it says, the EB-2 quota stay at EB-2 for oversubscribed country, then why there's no movement for EB-2 China? Something is not right.
