Ignore the IOs, just talk to your Senator or Congressman. They will be able to help you out. I was stuck in name check for more than 3 years. My congressman did not help but the senators office had a namecheck cell and they help out with genuine cases. The person there helped me clear my name check in 2-3 months (talk, dont email, send certified letter with details after talking to them). Had i known this earlier I would have had contacted them earlier and would have gotten my GC in June 07. My lawyer sdid not allow us to contact the IOs for information and i suffered big time because of that. Based on my experience all i can say is be proactive.

Don't harrass the man....he has specific problem to be solved and he was asking for comfort and some advise....he's airing his frustrations and agony...

Over 60% of the US and 90% of Arizona supports the law they passed. Obama and his Attorney General are doing the wrong thing by interfering with state politics. I was trying to fill up AP e-filing form. As I do not have a Middle Name, I didn't eneter anything in the Middle Initial field. It does not allow me to submit the form and shows the following error:
WARNING: It is suggested that you provide your Middle Initial. Failure to do so may result in your application or petition being delayed or denied.
Did anyone else encounter the same error and how did you resolve it?

We are like beggars in this country. This country and its people do not want us here and are doing everything permissible under law to throw us out of here (if no law then they just make one up).
But we are such suckers that we do not want to leave this country and go back home. Gandhi fought to get rid of white masters but we were destined to serve one anyway. I don't understand why I don't live in my own country and contribute to its economy. Why am I tolling so hard to live here? I don't know when will my hard head understand this silly concept.
The reason is...probably we are not toiling that hard....As long as one has a paying job, things go reasonably smooth.....and we dont toil as much as it is made out to be.
The issue comes only when one loses the job...and had to play catch-up with immigration to keep us in status.
That is also the reason why you don't get mass participation in legal immigration activities.
I presume people are just happy with the status-quo! They think of going that extra length only when that status quo gets disrupted..

The company filed for her H1B COS which was approved with new I-94. Lot of people with consulting firms especially spouses would be in similar situation and while following the forums, I haven't heard many denials with this reason i.e., joining the employer a little later for H1B approval.
So what are the chances of getting a RFE or denial? Since we already filed for 485, I am not sure if there is anything we can do.

Has anyone thought of the people who missed the august 17 deadline because the labor was not cleared within time. Because of no mistake from ourside, we have to suffer. What a screwed up legal situation ?
As of now PD is apr 2001, I dont know when will it move ?

There should be support from most congress person for any bill to pass. All IV members should call the local congress person and request them to support the pro legal immigration bills.

Shiller is smart but I think he is confusing the word 'Immigrant' with the word 'stupid'.
I am an immigrant and why should I buy an unaffordable over priced house which no American is willing to buy?
he is smart but his idea was stupid ..why will they allow anyone to come to US and give him GC on the first day just because he purchased a house ??
also the reality has changed somewhat as US loses its charm somewhat ..and as other countries become better ..many will not come and buy a house.
maybe we should have a campaign (or should have had a campaign) telling shiller that forget newcomers ..there are million of well to do immigrants in US who would buy a house EVENTUALLY if their GC's were to be processed faster !!

My employer is not giving copy of my I140. With out I140 how to port it to an other job/employer etc ?
Can some on advise me !
My company, which is a big one with more than 9000 employees tried to do the same with me. I've to do some sweet talking with my paralegal to get a copy of I-140, which was sufficient. Although, later I realized it was a notice of action but I think that should work too. Since, my company filed my 485 I did not have to worry much about that.

The skin test is mandatory. Also, your blood test results might take a day or two. I really dont think you have any option but to ask her to come back a few days early.

all it matters is what individual members will vote if we have time we should go and meet our lawmakers who ever runs for president in 2012 will have this in his/her campaign.. but who ever becomes the president its the congress which does the voting and decides the fate of the bills.. only if we have more ppl meeting with each of lawmakers on regular basis we have some future either with CIR or w/o CIR via piecemeal

We have applied for our AP renewal on 05/09 at NSC. I have noticed online status change to our I131s today with the following message. Is this a RFE? if so, what could be the RFE for AP? Your help and input appreciated.
