Sounds like your dv camcorder is your only option, provided iMovie recognizes it. Do a quick clip, then see if you can import.
Since the camcorder doesn't have record in, about the only thing you can do is play the movie in a quiet room and record it with the camcorder. Won't be the best quality, but you will be able to get it on the Mac, provided iMovie recognizes it. What kind of camcorder is it? Another option is find someone with a camcorder that has the ability to record in. My Sony SR100 does this, buts the quality isn't the greatest.

Hey!
Anyone planning on going to the Apple store in Reston VA this thursday? I pre-ordered my phone and plan on swinging by before work at around ~6:30.
I know some Macrumors users live in the area because when I went to go play with an iPad, I punched in www.macrumors.com and it popped up in the history lol.

Opinion: Depends on the exact model of powerbook, but I give you 50%-50% of it working.
This is Crucial's generic laptop RAM. It's fine thing, but it is not guaranteed to work on Powerbooks. Crucial's Powerbook RAM is a special build CT12864X335AP or CT12864X335.16 NewEgg of course makes no guarantee of compatibility. (you did see the review from the purchaser who tried 2 of these without success in their 17" powerbook, right?)
I recommend that you stick with a reputable vendor who tests and guarantees compatibility with your model Powerbook, has a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost return if it doesn't work.
If that Crucial doesn't work, you'll be out time, trouble and shipping costs. Wost case, you may get stuck with a restocking charge depending on seller policies.

Probably one of the most non-brilliant, pointless ideas I've ever heard before. What's the point of buying a refurb and then returning it in 14 days? And then what...you're just gonna be iPad-less until the next one. Is 14 days really that thrilling for you? That you need to screw a company. I don't care how much the company has, you're buying an iPad with the sole intent to not keep it - such a waste.
As to your attitude towards other members, it's really sad. Do you really need to come on the internet and act all high and mighty, and better than others? I'm sorry your life is that sad that you feel such a need to degrade people.

Thank you so much! I've been searching everywhere and wasn't able to find a concrete answer. That just makes AppleCare even more of a no-brainer!
I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

im getting pissed at sprint because their 3G plans suck total ass. they have not planned mac compatibility with ANY of their new phones, so they will soon be getting the axe from me. If apple doesnt come out with a new phone by mid2003, then I will by the Moto v600 which should be out by that time.

What I find interesting in that graph is that about 20% of iPad users are getting another device because "other tablets became available." Does that mean they're going to get a cheaper competing device as a second unit?

I have decided to make a thread because I have exhausted all my means of club searching, I have yet to get bad advice from MR, and lots of good clubs try to stay underground.
I love to dance. I try to dance 4 times a week, but usually I only get 3 nights per week. Wednesdays are always annoying because I can't ever find a club to go to and I have no class on Thursday, so I can sleep in.
So if anyone here is familiar with clubs in New York City, please help me out:
I'm gay - so a gay club is preferable, but I'd be more than willing to go to a straight club if they have good music. Mixed clubs are a lot of fun too. A place like webster hall, which isn't mixed at all would be a last resort.
I'm a poor student - free is preferable, but I'd be willing to pay up to $15, depending on how much I feel like dancing (which is usually quite a bit :p).
I want to dance, not lounge! So no lounges or bars, please!
I'm only 18, so 21+ clubs aren't possible. I don't have a fake ID, I don't drink.
I'm in Manhattan, and I'm not so keen about riding the subway from too far away back to my dorm at 3-5AM after I'm done dancing. So, a club in Manhattan would be nice, near Union Square would be awesome. I like to walk to/from clubs to warm up/cool down my legs. :)

My only concern is speed. I'm used to turning on the camera and taking a shot. With P&S you have the latency, which drove me to the DSLRs in the first place.
I'll have to take a look at TZ-7, the wide angle may be enough of a justification to buy a new one

So, where did you get the Beta from? I looked at the download/beta section of Stanford, but didn't see it.

These banners are just supreme. I don't think I remember ever seeing these-- only the "Think Different" ads in magazines way back when.
The "Think Different" campaigns were ingenious, and to think several years later Apple would resort to those awful, mind-numbing "dancing silhouettes" for iPod and the even more mind-numbing "Mac vs. PC" ones to appeal to the masses.
