I have never EVER had Facebook crash Safari. And I use Facebook heavily.
Sounds something is wrong with your setup or you just enjoy spreading FUD.
I have multiple Macs, more than 10, so I'm not spreading FUD.
You must just go on the site and read what people say and don't do anything javascript intensive.
There are many threads of SAFARI complaints on here and on Apple Discussions if you don't believe me.
So far, Safari 4.0.4 seems more stable, but they still need to fix the spinning beachball problem, which also many people have complained about.
I suspect that on Macs FLASH and Javascript would be mostly the causes of these problems, but on the iPhone, there would still be Javascript problems in Mobile Safari since they are based largely on each other.

for a designer with such a relationship with typefaces as yours you should know that Apple's usual font is Myriad Set and that this is in fact a version of Myriad Set, just the rarely used 'light' version

I don't think that anyone who has A Clue� doesn't know this already.
The ilk of people who think it's immune are the same ilk of people that don't understand why their WindowsPC is running so "slowly".
I just resent being called smug.
I also resent blackhatters who are new to the OS X game getting all rightous. Where were they the last 5 years? They're part of the REASON "mac users are so smug about security".
I did not intend to call you smug; I apologize if you took it that way... I was responding to your assessment of how "hackers" view Mac Users/The Mac Community.
I think that there are actually a good deal of people with A Clue� (in general) that don't understand much about OS X security. I was speaking with hyperbole--I think a lot of people who do have this clue thing think that it's somewhat hard to write viruses for OS X... Apple certainly advertises it horrendously these days.
As for blaming BlackHatters for our ignorance about security issues, I think that you need to get that clue thing for saying that. And as for smug OS X newcomers, you would do well to remember that OS X is MOSTLY *nix at the base. You don't have to be a hardened OS X developer to futz around in it.

I feel like I must visit Vancouver and Canada in general, as I see so many great photos in this thread from here.
Canada is sweet! I'm slowing planning a road trip across Canada from end to end. I'd love to visit places further north but I'll have to stick around close HWY 1 and major cities.
Vancouver is neat but it's UBER EXPENSIVE!!!!! In my opinion that is. I feel everything is overpriced and the city doesn't help out much.

Moscone North and South were already reserved for trade shows much bigger than WWDC more than a year in advance. It's all about the total number of attendees, and these big trade shows bring in an order of magnitude more people spending money in SF than either WWDC or Google IO.

However look 2 years out. If back in the day MacWorld Expo could get North and South then Apple should not have a problem with getting 2 or more of the building as well.

Does anyone have the list of the slogans for the last few years and how they related to any product releases?? I believe this is a deliberate red herring by Apple. Pigs might be in the air - flying?
Either that or its something small(ish) like new Airport Express iTunes streaming thing. Maybe trying to make 2008 the year that everyone does away with CDs and downloads all their music and streams it around the house.
What about an Apple Radio of some sort? Able to play DAB radio and stream your iTunes.

i bought a macbook 2ghz core duo, 1gb, 80gb, superdrive at the apple store this past sunday. it looks like now i could of gotten the core 2 duo with all the other same specs for about $200 cheaper. does anyone know if apple has some sort of exchange policy for situations like this?

I am pleased to see these colour iPods back. I have a 6GB Mini and i would have liked Apple to have made maybe a 6GB or 8GB Nano in different colours. If i get one of these new Nanos it would feel like a bit of a downgrade to me in terms of space. I guess that i would be gaining in other areas though. I do suspect though that Apple will up the hard drive capacity on these colour Nanos in the future.
It is a bit strange they way that they have done this though making all the colour ones 4GB and the 8GB the black one only.
I noticed also that they only support 10.3.9 and up all those who are using older Mac Software are going to face a bit of a problem if they want to buy one of these new Nanos.
